20 years ago, I was arrested right here in the Langley HS parking lot…in 8th grade, my friends and I would sneak out at night and take his dads car to drive around and so we got in trouble for trespassing…had to do a “remedial class” w the Fairfax County Police…but in doing that it made me think of the direction my life was on so when I got into high school, I saw the world much diff… 20 years later, I was driving down Georgetown Pike thinking about how when I was growing up, I’d always dream that I’d drive that same road one day in a sports car…flash forward, I have a 2014 corvette I got with 40k miles, that in 5 months I’ve put 18,161 miles on…but to me, it’s living my dream… I guess driving a sports car with the top down on Georgetown pike was always a dream of the younger me, so I made that come true... Had I stayed in life as an investment banker making money, I could have had a better car sooner, or be driving home to a mansion in great falls, instead of a house I rent in falls church, but I look at the car as my American dream…it’s still out there, it will be a bit different than we all thought, but we’re all gonna get it… I guess pursuing the American Dream is why I’m running for office, but it’s also how I live my life
