Brendan Donovan's connection to the Mariners and longtime infield coach Perry Hill is more "full-circle" than many might realize. "It’s almost mind-blowing how it played out." mlb.com/news/brendan-d…

AVG infield play vs. ELITE infield play are clearly separated by these two things in my opinion…fundamentals + ground ball reps. ELITE INFers are taking 300+ ground ball reps per week. AVG INFers are taking less than 100. Thoughts? @AlanLuckie7 #infieldplay #FieldingFridays

@JackCressend Absolutely @JackCressend! And when u look at highly successful people, I have found that are three common traits - incredible people skills, incredible work ethic and extreme attention to detail

@AlanLuckie7 this sounds like our lunch convos! As a coach, player, and/or program you have to learn to “refine” AND “evolve”. Too many get caught up in one or the other in baseball!
Mat Smith@RealMatSmith

🦬 OC Pat Shurmur spoke on the differences in constructing a gameplan for Sundays compared to Saturdays. Fascinating answer. Also discussed whether an offense evolves or refines over the course of the season and where he feels the Buffs are at right now. Take a listen 👇

As I’ve said many times, ‘Life is about making the adjustments’, and I’m about to make a big one. After more than 20 years in sports and broadcasting, I’m going to hang up my microphone. (Still hanging on to Locked on Sun Belt). 1/

Be on time every time. Lock in for each pitch of every game Dominate the small details. When you’re not ready, the ball typically finds you Want the ball to be hit to you

@nextlevelbb I’m a big believer in a slight hop with both feet hitting the ground at the same time, landing on the balls of your feet - gives u equal range both ways. Hands only slightly open

Ready position and rhythm Your glove hand foot should land when the pitch is about halfway to the plate. Feet should be square to move either direction. You don't need to be a robot and face your glove towards the hitter. Be athletic.

73% of Hall of Famers in the MLB were “late bloomers”. It’s a long journey! Parents + Coaches…keep fostering a love for the game + developing fundamentals/work ethic/baseball IQ/mental toughness. Enjoy the process together!
