I came back from @AcresUSA with a lot of ideas and many new paths potentially forward but need to better understand hopefully with the help of you all Green Lightning was compelling. I can't explain it better than it puts Nitrogen from the air into water with the help of electricity... and doesn't burn. No salt. I talked to a few people like @JWebsterAg , but I wanted to get some feedback from you all. Who has bought a unit or has a better understanding? I believe N is solely the nitrate form? What water purification standards / methods are important? Any rates / feel for potency and efficacy?

@jasonmauck1 @MSNBC The buying votes thing, I’ve been saying that since MFP payments, all these dudes flying Trump flags after he fucked you with tariffs the first go round, then writes everyone a check. He thinks we are all whores, just look at OnlyFarmers…

About 7 years ago @MSNBC stopped by our farm. After a long interview of me explaining my libertarian/agnostic/ultra conservative view of agriculture and politics they took 1 quote from the interview asking about my view of trumps 2019 MFP payments “Any monkey can write a check” Our farm operation has been one of the most conservative minded in the area. We’ve squeezed the nickel so hard we grew 🌽 off its 💩, I’ve farmed with old, paid for equipment most of my life. Debt just wasn’t ever an option so we just did without. The local community… (farmer round table) called me a “liberal”… apparently since Libertarianism sounds like… liberal IDK, and anybody that doesn’t 🦜 @FoxNews is that… 7 years later a golden tractor is in the White House lawn next to the new Ball Room. @NutrienAgRetail just reported record profits and farms are struggling like the early - mid 80’s Check out whitehouse.gov/agriculture/ if you want to see what narcissism looks like. We don’t need another check or a loan. We need real conservative solutions. Slash all subsidies. Let the market figure this shit out…. But we’re so deeply fucked up that it would be pretty painful for a time until things balanced out. You can’t just keep buying votes. We don’t need more 🌽. We need 🥩 processing in every county We need the mathematics of independently owned 🐖 We need Agriculture to work again like it did before politicians let the corporations pad their pockets at the expense of the family farm.
Acyn@Acyn

Trump: We love the American farmer. I just gave you $12 billion. I don't know if you know that or not. You make enough money. Doesn't matter to you.

@jasonmauck1 @ZachLahn Streams might be the way to go. Walk your grain off via animals that are raised on the fringes of your ground. Take your best 80, farm that and then diversify your production across the other 80. Permaculture ideas on a larger scale.

@jasonmauck1 @ZachLahn As someone that started with junk, and is now at the high hours machines level, I agree with your take. 20k land is very hard to cash flow even with organic prices and cost of production. Pigs, orchards, mixed production where you are breaking up 160 acres into various revenue

These are the conversations I like to see. This is from the @ZachLahn post. Here’s my take… $20,000/ac land won’t cash flow with 🌽 today… maybe if we print money hard for 10 years.. 2037–> Scale + what “anybody” can do is always a baseline. If your “in” agriculture you can leverage your existing base and absorb bad economics to a certain % and carry on. If your “outside trying to get in” 🌽 is kind of like a “redneck yacht club” You gotta start with junk and try to scratch and claw a way in… there isn’t a way to pay 20k/ac you won’t even be able to pay for the interest on that piece of ground. The only play is cheap rent… but no one wants to farm that ground for a reason Continuing on that train of thought you have to continue to do things other people… old people… lazy out of shape people can’t do. Wooded lots are everywhere, some are too small to hunt or be monetized in any way. That’s where 🐖 come in. Restaurants throw away food, breweries have spent grains, food factories have scraps. Pigs have 15 babies You have to be the interface for new company growth meaning you have to create a customer base 1 by 1 and sell your product with a premium Doing things other people aren’t willing to do Using land other people aren’t willing to utilize Building customers one by one If you’re not born into farming that’s the only way … and slowly you could turn it into something where you can buy better equipment to wear it out and lose money like everyone else doing it the easy way. I don’t write these posts because I need to be right… good dialogue sparks some ideas for someone hopefully. There is opportunity for anything. If farming was great it’ll just reaccellerate towards another cliff. If you remember the scene in step brothers when they were doing the “boats and hoes” music video The step dad yelled “who’s driving the boat!!!” No body is driving the boat. The world is drivin by a bunch of independent people following their own interests and it’ll just crash. No one is driving towards safety. Finding logic is your job

The hardest part about starting in ag isn’t work ethic. It’s competing against balance sheets built in and made it through the 80s and 90s. You’re not behind- you’re just playing a different game.

30 acres in. Blew a shaft seal on vac pump. Hopefully back in tomorrow. Got the gremlins out I expected. Depth, down force, RX all ready to rock and roll. Wheat is coming along slowly but 10 days looks wet and conducive to growth. Spacing is nice. If I wasn’t having fun farming or trying new things I might not do it. This is fun, and exciting, and likely quite profitable

@FoulkShay @JakeZwagerman Surprised them too. We never considered it, too big of a risk of decertification without direction from NOP.

Few points… 1. Vast majority of the actual objection to woman in combat is that the standards (behind scene) were lowered to include. This is not a hypothetical, the NCO club, would tell you it absolutely happened. Standard is truly met, vast majority don’t care. 2. Biological issue with men being protective over women is a real thing. It can change the dynamic in the fight and that’s no bueno. 3. Pilots have largely been excused from this criticism because woman combat pilots have been a thing for a long time, and the “standard” is harder to fudge. Kara Hultgren an example of what happens when it doesn’t get applied. We certainly had air cover from female Green Dragon pilots. 4. In 2007, I recommended a young female cook I knew in our support unit to be the female member of the Commander’s PSD to the CSM. She got that position and was excellent. Yet another situation where the nuance matters. Some on the right don’t want females in combat at all, many on the left think all of them should be eligible. Like it so often is, the right answer is in the middle somewhere. I’d certainly take a motivated female who meets the standard over a male that doesn’t care to be there.

Staffer: Sir, good news. One of the F-15 pilots ejected safely and is on the ground. Calm and cool under pressure. Badass aura. A video taken by a thankful Kuwaiti civilian is going viral. Hegseth: Fuck yeah. What's his name? Staffer: Okay, so, here's the part you won't like...

@MaxROIFarmer Oh boy, that wouldn’t be enjoyable at all. I had to look at a map, wasn’t sure if that was in Iraq or Afghanistan (Hwar Rajab). At first I thought afghan which would be worse in my opinion

Imagine doing your first Air Assault ever into a plowed field in March in Iraq next to the Euphrates in the dark. Helicopter sank to the hull and we just piled out into the mud with the crew chief yelling to stop running because the rotor disc was pointed down towards the ground. Good times.

Well…funny story. My dumbass requested Hood and about the time I got there they switched to Combined Arms Battalions and my company got moved to an “infantry” battalion. When we got our orders we had been shipped as a heavy battalion to 1BdE/101st to help clear out an area around Hwar Rajab. We were on tanks for like the first week of missions before they decided we needed to be closer to the people. I learned a lot of things we had never done before on the fly. The air insertions were the fun part, the walking blew. That’s actually were my MUC is from. 1st BDE/101.
