RTE’s EUROVISION BOYCOTT BUSTING Just in case RTE doesn’t tell you below is the running order of Saturday nights 70th Eurovision. Oops, nearly forgot, RTE has a correspondent & camera crew hanging around outside the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna hosting the event in search of anti Israel protesters who apparently are hard to find! RTE’s solution to RTE’s cancel culture & self imposed boycott? Comic boycott busting daily reports of Vienna’s weather & expressions of disappointment at protesters absence while excluding song contest actuality until today’s dramatic boycott busting ( Friday) edition of Morning Ireland. Having yet again reminded us of RTE’s boycott, Morning Ireland broadcast extracts from the entries of Finland, Greece, Cyprus & Bulgaria as possible winners. Even managed to reference a certain loser-the UK entry but, of course, the Israel entry and singer not played or referenced beyond implicit criticism of Israels participation. That came after RTE’s Director General, Kevin Bakhurst, did his best impression of a Hamas spokesman in a preceding interview. Bakhurst’s Gaza related factually inaccurate & selective commentary can be best depicted as public disservice broadcasting , adopting a simplistic Hamas narrative, as he genuflected to RTE’s NUJ & other unions which hold the station in captivity. Seems we now have RTE’s solution to its irrelevant act of cancel culture as it implements its Irish Solution to an Irish Problem - a partial Eurovision boycott that facilitates radio broadcasts but not tv visuals of Eurovision contestants entries, excluding those of the Jewish Israeli contestant. So Third Reich! Of course, RTE knows throughout Ireland Eurovision can be viewed on BBC by those interested without the interruption of advertising. Yet again on Saturday it will be hosted by Graham Norton. In the unlikely event of Israel’s excellent entry winning or even finishing in the top three expect a collective nervous breakdown throughout Montrose from the top down as they figure out how to best report the results of Saturday’s Eurovision final.

Among those participating in the Hamas support demo in Dublin this Saturday are: Dublin Pride Transgender Equality Network, Foyle Pride Festival, Mammies for Trans Rights, Pride Ireland. Has anyone told them how gay Palestinians are depicted & treated by Hamas? Just asking.

So what are the chances of the multiple groups participating in this Saturday’s pro Hamas National Israel Hate Demonstration, which purports to be in solidarity with Palestinians, adopting the below remarks of President Abbas? Zero. What is the likelihood of RTE News reporting them? Zero. What is the possibility of Boyd Barrett & ors being challenged in an interview by them? Zero
Ihab Hassan@IhabHassane

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, in his speech at a Fatah conference today, mocked those who described October 7 as a “blessed day” and said that Palestinians were slaughtered, displaced, and our country was destroyed because of Hamas’s October 7 attack.

“End 78 Years of Ongoing Nakba”is the new global propaganda theme for anti Israel protests this weekend. Devised by the propaganda wing of Islamic extremists, its a straightforward call for Israel’s eradication & the slaughter of half of world Jewry. Overt genocidal antisemitism

Claims Israel manipulates Eurovision voting, as repetitively implied by RTE, ignore the obvious:In a politicized contest,a focused bloc of supporters outweigh a scattered crowd of haters. Rejection of the haters positively boosts Israel’s Irish support timesofisrael.com/the-new-york-t…

This is just INSANE 😳 Israeli biotech company, NanoGhost, has created one of the most advanced targeted drug-delivery systems on Earth. Spun out of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology by Prof. Marcelle Machluf (former dean of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Engineering), NanoGhost developed Nano-Ghosts (NGs) which are tiny nanovesicles made from the emptied membranes of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). These Nano-Ghosts retain the natural tumor-homing ability of stem cells. When injected, they act like biological Trojan horses. They travel through the bloodstream, infiltrate tumors and inflamed tissue, and deliver powerful drugs, proteins, mRNA, or gene-editing tools directly inside cancer cells, while largely sparing healthy tissue and dramatically reducing side effects. Proven effective in preclinical studies against multiple aggressive cancers (melanoma, prostate, lung, glioma, pancreatic). The technology is now in advanced preclinical development, with human clinical trials expected in the coming years. This isn’t science fiction anymore. It’s Israeli innovation turning your own cells into precision-guided missiles against cancer. Proud every single day. 🇮🇱 #NanoGhosts #Nanomedicine #CancerTreatment #Technion #IsraelInnovation #StartupNation

Today is "Nakba Day," the day 78 years ago that five Arab armies invaded Israel. May 15, 1948, was supposed to be the end of the Jewish state. A civil war had already raged for 7 months triggering the flight of hundreds of thousands. 100,000 Jews in Jerusalem had been under siege for 5 months. The day-old State of Israel was under an arms embargo. So when the British-trained Arab Legion crossed the Jordan River, Syrian Renault tanks crossed the border, and Egyptian Spitfires bombed Tel Aviv, it was a time of hope and excitement across the Arab world. But Nakba means “catastrophe.” Not the catastrophe of them rejecting a Palestinian Arab state. Not the catastrophe of them losing the UN Partition vote. Not the catastrophe of triggering the refugee crisis that had already begin months before. May 15 is not the beginning of the war or even the end of the war. May 15 marks the catastrophe of the failed attempt to destroy the Jewish state, and the humiliation that followed. It is not a coincidence that Nakba falls on May 15.

Today is “Nakba Day”. The Palestinian Prime Minister posted this image. Look at it carefully. A figure holds a key and walks toward Jerusalem inside the outline of a Palestine that includes, and replaces, Israel. The entirety of the land, from the river to the sea. No Israel on the map. The Arabic reads: العودة حق, return is a right. And then there is the key. Mahmoud Abbas wears one on his lapel at every meeting, every diplomatic summit, every official photograph. It has a precise meaning: the right to return not to Ramallah or to Bethlehem but to Haifa, Jaffa, Acre, Safed, cities inside sovereign Israel, for the millions of descendants of Palestinians who left in 1948. Notice: descendants. Under every other refugee regime on earth, refugee status belongs to those personally displaced. Children inherit citizenship, not refugee status. Under UNRWA’s unique framework, Palestinian refugee status passes from generation to generation, indefinitely. The great-grandchild of someone who left Haifa in 1948 remains, officially, a refugee from Haifa. What began as a humanitarian designation has become something else: the institutional preservation of a political claim across generations. A claim whose endpoint, fully implemented, would end Israel. This is the Palestinian Authority, the leadership Western governments call moderate, continue to fund, and present as the partner for a two-state solution. Which raises an obvious question: a two-state solution with a party whose ideology erases one of the two states? 1948 brought real displacement and real grief; for Palestinians, and in the years that followed, for the nearly one million Jews expelled from Arab countries. Both histories are real. But one grievance has turned into dead-end political ideology. Unless Palestinians are willing to give up the belief, the hope, I would say, that Israel will one day disappear, no peace, no progress can be made- and by the way, will only convince Israelis that there is no partner for peace anywhere to be found. Governments, especially those who continuously speak about the need to preserve a two-state solution, cannot constantly avoid this central issue. This cannot be brushed off. It is part of a culture that, unless countered and ultimately abandoned, will only lead to further destruction for the region. @jnbarrot @EmmanuelMacron @WhiteHouse @Keir_Starmer @bundeskanzler @SecRubio @GiorgiaMeloni @kajakallas @vonderleyen @donaldtusk

The #Nakba was never a moment frozen in history—it is a continuing reality of killing, displacement, siege, occupation, & exile. But memory does not die. Keys are still kept. Names are still remembered. And a people who carry their homeland in their hearts will never disappear.

Well RTE News fulfilled my expectations & sent Evelyn O’Rourke & a camera crew to Vienna to report on the Eurovision RTE are boycotting. Hilarious piece on Six One News in which she reluctantly reported the first semi final went off well, clearly regretted the absence of outdoor anti Israel protesters creating “ atmosphere” & looked forward to the possibility some might show up for Saturday’s final. Wonder did RTE breach their own boycott by showing the Wiener Stadthalle where Eurovision is being staged in the background. Is that not forbidden? Oh and, of course, as when she was introduced, she reminded us all that RTE & 4 others are boycotting the event but forgot to mention 3 newly returned participants. The reality is despite RTE repetitively referencing it, its boycott is totally irrelevant to the success of the 70th Eurovision & none of the 35 participating national broadcasters really care.
Alan Shatter@Alan__Shatter

95,O00 tickets have reportedly been sold to fans attending the 70th Eurovision’s semi-finals & final next week & over 150 million viewers from 75 countries are expected to tune in. Added to those will be the viewers resident in the 5 states, including Ireland, whose national broadcasters are boycotting the event to no benefit to anyone, who will watch Eurovision broadcast by other neighbouring broadcasters. Irish audiences will tune in to BBC. Expect a weeks orgy of RTE & other Irish broadcasters unbalanced supportive interviews platforming the boycott cult with no or minimal pushback from anyone opposed to RTE’s boycott. Some Questions - Will RTE News have a camera & interview crew in Vienna to interview participants in boycotting cult protests or to report any incident related to Eurovision or will that be boycotted? Will RTE News impose an entire news blackout on the contest & entirely ignore any event associated with it? Will RTE News report the successful semi-finalists & the outcome of the final or is that verboten? If the Israeli contestant finishes in the top 3 & RTE News intends to report the result will his name or image be omitted? Just asking. RTE should clarify.

My grandmother was a nurse in Gush Etzion and was one of the hostages taken to Jordan and held there for months until the fledgling State of Israel could negotiate her release. Her friends and her boyfriend were murdered.
Captain Allen@CptAllenHistory

This Day (May 13) in 1948, Arabs Massacred Dozens of Surrendering Jews at Kfar Etzion — The Day Before Israel Declared Independence The Jews of Kfar Etzion fought for 3 days against overwhelming odds — Haganah fighters, Palmach soldiers & civilian kibbutz families defending their homes. Then, they raised the white flag. On May 13, 1948, those Jews who remained surrendered to the combined force of the British-trained & British-led Jordanian Arab Legion and hundreds of local Arab villagers and armed Arab irregulars. 50 survivors were ordered to assemble in the courtyard of the kibbutz. They were photographed by an Arab in a kaffiyeh — a staged propaganda image of “surrender.” Then an armored car belonging to the Arab Legion opened fire with its machine gun. Local Arabs immediately joined in, raking the group with submachine guns and grenades. Those who tried to run were hunted down and shot. Dozens more who had fled into a cellar were massacred when attackers threw hand grenades inside. The Arabs then blew up the building so it collapsed on those Jews still trapped below. Of the 127 Jewish defenders and residents killed at Kfar Etzion, dozens were massacred in cold blood after they had surrendered. Arabs then mutilated the bodies of the Jews with reports of limbs, heads, and other “trophies” taken. This barbaric method — throwing grenades into places where Jews were hiding for their lives and taking Jewish body parts as trophies — is hauntingly familiar. Hamas terrorists did the exact same thing on October 7, 2023, at the Nova festival and in kibbutz safe rooms. The goal has never changed: slaughter as many Jews as possible in the most humiliating, medieval fashion. At Kfar Etzion, bodies of murdered Jews were left lying where they fell — unburied and exposed — for a year and a half. Why? Because the Jordanians had ethnically cleansed every last Jew from the area and illegally annexed Judea and Samaria (which they renamed the “West Bank” for the first time in history in 1950). Only four Jews survived the massacre at Kfar Etzion itself. The next day, the remaining three kibbutzim in the Gush Etzion bloc surrendered under Red Cross supervision to avoid the same fate. Roughly 260–320 more Jews (including 85 women) were taken prisoner and paraded in open trucks through the streets of Amman, Jordan, to the cheers and jeers of massive crowds. Arabs who were part of a coalition intent on preventing a Jewish state from rising in any part of the Land slaughtered dozens of Jews who had already surrendered — on the very eve of the end of the British Mandate and Israel’s declaration of independence. They then looted and razed the entire Gush Etzion bloc to the ground. The bodies of the slaughtered Jews were finally collected by Chief Rabbi Shlomo Goren in November 1949 and buried with full military honors on Mount Herzl — the first graves in Israel’s national military cemetery.

The word Nakba was originally applied to Arab/Israeli conflict by Syrian historian Constantine Zureiq to describe the ignominious self inflicted Arab defeat in Israel’s 1948 war of independence. He blamed the Arab states for the “ Arab” publics flight from what became Israel rather than it being any premeditated Zionist plan. The flight of aprox 750,000 Arabs, encouraged as a temporary departure by the warring Arab states, while they massacred the Jews, was depicted as a self inflicted disaster. The term re-ernerged in the 1980s to be used to depict an Israeli created injustice. The factual history of Israel’s rebirth was turned upside down, with aggressors depicted as hapless victims & defenders of Israel’s nascent state & Jewish population turned into aggressors. “ The word “ Nakba” has been reconstructed to undermine the legitimacy of the Israeli state as established by UN resolution 181 of November 29, 1947 & to support the description of all Arab depicted Palestinians as refugees, regardless of where across the globe they presently reside. “End 78 years of the Ongoing Nakba” is yet another distortion of the words original meaning. It doubles down on “ Palestinian” victimhood, treats them as having no agency or responsibility for their own or their political leaders actions & is a direct call for Israel’s eradication. It is also designed to distract from the Hamas created disaster in Gaza as a consequence of Hamas initiating a barbaric genocidal war on October 7, 2023, that it intentionally continued for 2 years bringing further disaster. It is a newly created coded version of 2 slogans, “ From the River to the Sea” & “ Globalise the Intifada”. There is linguistically no such thing as” the ongoing Nakba” but as orchestrated the phrase will resound this Saturday on the streets of Dublin, around the world and will be promoted in political forums in the weeks & months to come. Inevitably it will be embraced by Dail & Seanad members. Of course in reality todays Nakba is the disaster suffered by the residents of Gaza for which Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah & Iran are primarily responsible.
