I consider one possible future (dystopia?) where things get so bad for the average guy, especially after Ai and robotics become advanced, that people start preferring having girls over boys (an inversion of historical preferences) and selecting for girls via IVF or some medical technology which guarantees or makes it more likely that you conceive a girl
This would warp gender ratios but also eventually start to shift SMV back to men who would become more scarce. It may also help increase birth rates as a larger share of population would be capable of having children/multiple children
