@patrickendrick I say this as an Inter fan but Chivu and Co are choking. The squad is a bad mix of inexperience and the internalised trauma of PSG and Napoli. My money is on Napoli but Milan can still do it. Inter will drop points against the Roman teams and Como. Can see them finishing third.

Inter’s problem is that they have been completely Lautaro, Dimarco and Zielinski-reliant for 4 months. With Lautaro’s injury and drop-off of the latter two, there are no top performers left on the pitch. Sommer, Barella, Thuram, Bastoni and Mhky have simply been awful all season

I see alot of interisti rightly saying it was a harsh way to get sent off A lot of juventini calling it a robbery I do not recall that energy when khepren raked bonny across the eyes before the adzic goal in the first fixture though 🤷‍♂️

Diooof's entrance usually coincides with midfield control's exit. Makes Frattesi look like Barella.

🚨 Oaktree is considering a major transfer coup in the summer to boost the club. Three Real Madrid options: Nico Paz, Arda Güler, or Franco Mastantuono are potential ideas that would help Chivu implement the 3-4-2-1 that he was aiming for last summer. 👀 [via @tuttosport]

@FClMthomas We all read the news from many reports. Not like Marotta just stands in front of the press spitting out things. He got asked by reporters. He could lie, but then we would all criticize him for that.

🤣 Diouf can play as midfielder but in a two midfield… What are Marotta and Ausilio did it this summer with Diouf and Luis Henrique is pure AMATEUR of management for €50m, hope they will eat good food via their commissions from both transfers, two absolutely non-sense transfers

🎙️ Chivu: "Diouf is a mezzala. He can play as a midfielder but in a two-man midfield, as a play in a three I don't think it's possible. But we need to try, I've never tried him there.”

@Inter_Xtra Picking up where we left off against PSG and in Club World Cup. A revolution was needed but chicken-sh*t management didn’t have the balls. Going to be a long, long season

I dont think this is the time for a huge investment in the mid. Susic is a gem and needs space. Hopefully Calhanoglu is sold but can't expect it. Barella leads the way and Mkhitaryan will get plenty of minutes. Just sign Frendrup and invest the rest elsewhere. CB is the priority.

@interjections10 Love your pod guys, I really do, but did you miss the memo about Inter switching to 3-4-2-1 next season? It is happening. 4 forwards is not enough for 3 positions over an entire season.

This can't be overstated at a time when fans have been calling for some youth integration. Might even need to depend on some at the CWC. Would be a breath of fresh air to have a coach who doesn't hate kids.

Dei giovani che sono ancora di proprietà dell'Inter, Chivu ha allenato: Fabbian (potenzialmente di proprietà Inter), Valentin Carboni, Pio Esposito, Cocchi, Berenbruch, Aleksandar Stankovic, De Pieri, Akinsanmiro, Zanotti

@NimaTavRood Agree 10000% with all the above Nima but is next season even going to be viable with the strain of the World Club Cup? How are the players even going to physically take to the field at this stage?

*REACTION & THOUGHTS ON INTER* No gas in the tank. Not even fumes. Three losses in a row after Bayern draw after three torrid performances where Inter look hungover for lack of a better word. Completely devoid of energy & mental sharpness. If the Inter we've seen against Bologna, Milan & Roma turn up on Wednesday, they will be ripped apart by Barcelona, limb by limb. Only a miracle can prevent the Inter of the last three matches from being completely asphalted by Barcelona. The last ounce of energy was spent vs Bayern to reach the semifinal. Logically that is. But Inter aren't logical. And have performed miracles in the past. Especially in the Champions League. And against Barcelona. Not to mention how much sharper Inter have looked in the Champions League this season despite looking frankly exhausted physically & mentally, the entire season in the Serie A & other domestic tournaments. Therefore, Zeru Tituli (important & real trophies not Mickey Mouse trophies like the FIFA Club World Cup) is highly likely & my only hope now is to end the season avoiding serious injuries on key players so as not to hamper next season. Inter went for 5 trophies with a squad that has so far never been able to win more than max 2 per season. Last summer the big investment was made on the backup goalkeeper. That may have been the right decision given Sommer's age in the long run, but it certainly wasn't the right choice if you want to win 3, 4 or 5 trophies in one season. This season that is. Instead of focusing on 1-2 competitions Inter went for glory. 5 trophies. That ended in failure (unless UCL miraculously won). Domestically for sure. When you bite off more than you can chew, you risk going home empty handed. And fail. On the pitch that is. Financially it's been a fantastic success of a season. And one that puts Inter in a good position to ACTUALLY build a team that is qualitatively able to compete and win on many fronts next season. This current squad does not. And THAT is very good news. Even though the failures on the pitch will sting Interisti for a long time. Especially this summer. During which Marotta will be in charge of the most consequential & important transfer window since he joined Inter in terms of what kind of club Inter are next 2-3 years: Get this summer right & Inter can not only continue bur relaunch the cycle & HUGELY improve the trophy haul, maybe even go on a winning run in the Serie A.Get it wrong and well...let's not dwell on that now. Most important thing this summer is to *ACTUALLY* build a team of, if not 24 starters then at least have 20 players of somewhat similar quality. Inter have 13 players today of that caliber. Maybe 14. That does not a treble make. THIS should be the most important lesson learned from this season. But as already mentioned, luckily, Inter will have a budget to invest & address that this summer. And they have Marotta in charge of it. Who despite his mistakes, when you tally the plus and minus, has been the most important signing Inter has made in a generation. But in the meantime, congrats Napoli & Conte on the Scudetto. Incredible achievement.
