The data center going into Joliet, IL is the size of Central Park and will pull more energy than half of what the entire city of Chicago uses. If that’s not enough physical interaction with a community, what numbers would qualify?

My boomer great aunt, God bless her, I do love her, calls me just a few minutes ago. She asks if we’re home because she has Easter eggs for the kids and she missed us at mass this morning. I told her we went to the vigil to which she replies in horror, “the vigil!? That’s soooo long. You must be a glutton for punishment.” I replied to the effect that it’s the greatest liturgy the Church has given us, how could I be disappointed being immersed in the presence of Jesus etc. I love these people, but dang, it’s not hard to see why the Church has taken a beating with this generation

Unironically Stardew Valley either caused this or is a symptom of this belief. The only way people can believe this is by fantasy or by thinking that wealthy suburbs / tourist towns are actual small town America. Meanwhile let's go look at a place like Bean Station Tennessee:

To the most common comments 1. Pretending every dollar general in a rural crossroads community displaced a cute little general store/grocery/butcher shop is just made up fantasy. Most of the time there was nothing there before. Would I love to live in a world where every little rural intersection had this magical couple? Sure? But oddly enough while everyone wants it to exist, no one seems interested in opening and operating this mythical business.

@burnernhooch Well, it doesn't say how many people there were. But the idea of "my spirit will not always strive with man" is that because God realizes people are so bad that he can't just be "present" in the world without them being destroyed.

what does the P in WASP stand for?? quickly.
I’ve finally decided to read the entire bible. So far, I’ve read Genesis and Exodus. I’m obviously really interested in reading the Gospels and New Testament. I’m debating skipping ahead to the Gospels. What do you recommend I do: Read the bible from front to back or skip ahead and read the Gospels (or entire New Testament) and then go back to the Old Testament.
