Recent data and ground reports clearly show that delays on the Bengaluru–Coastal Karnataka route are continuing to worsen. The average delay over the last 7 days has already crossed 40 minutes at Subrahmanya Road and more than 1 hour at Mangaluru Central. Even today, Train No. 16511 KSR Bengaluru–Kozhikode Express is running late by over 20 minutes and this has now become a daily issue rather than an occasional delay. Passengers including students, employees and small business operators are facing serious inconvenience as they are unable to reach their destinations on time. The situation has significantly deteriorated after recent operational changes, especially the shifting of the crossing point of Train No. 16595/96 from Shiribagilu to Subrahmanya Road, which is now causing cascading delays across the section and affecting multiple services. Despite repeated concerns being raised, no effective corrective action has been taken so far and the reliability of this important route continues to decline. To resolve this issue, it is essential to immediately review the current crossing pattern and consider restoring the earlier crossing arrangement at Shiribagilu or properly rescheduling Train No. 16595/96 to avoid interference with other services. At the same time, the existing schedule of Train No. 16511, especially the early morning handover at Padil around 6:50 AM, must be maintained without disruption to prevent further delays. This railway line is a crucial daily lifeline for thousands of people, and continued delays are unacceptable. Kindly take immediate action to restore punctual and reliable train services for the public. @SWRRLY @DrmMys @RailMinIndia @AshwiniVaishnaw @VSOMANNA_BJP @GMSRailway @DRMPalghat @CaptBrijesh

Stop lying under your teeth with heavy bias against 16595/6. Why don't you consider this train also as lifeline of coastal Karnataka? Selective stepmotherly treatment is also very bad. Just because 16511 goes to kerala you are over pampering it. 16511 has an On time record at CLT

Recent reports and the ground situation clearly show increasing delays in key trains like Tr No. 16511 KSR Bengaluru-Kozhikode Express and Tr No.16585 SMVT Bengaluru-Murudeshwar Express, which were once considered highly reliable lifelines between Bengaluru and Coastal Karnataka. Daily commuters, including students, employees and small business operators, are now facing significant hardship due to consistent delays, making it difficult to reach workplaces, colleges and important commitments on time. The issue has worsened after the shifting of the crossing point of Train 16595/96 KSR Bengaluru-Karwar Panchaganga Express from Shiribagilu to Subrahmanya Road. This operational change has disrupted the smooth movement of trains on this section, leading to cascading delays that are affecting not just these trains but also connecting services in the Mangaluru–Subrahmanya corridor. What was once a dependable route is now becoming unpredictable. Passengers are also concerned about further proposed operational changes, including alterations in train handling and delayed handover timings. Such changes may further degrade punctuality instead of improving it, undermining the long-standing reliability of these services. We sincerely urge @SWRRLY to immediately review the current crossing arrangement and consider restoring the earlier system at Shiribagilu or properly rescheduling Train 16595/96 to avoid interference with other services. At the same time, the existing schedule of Train 16511, especially the early morning handover at Padil around 6:50 AM, must be maintained without disruption. This route is not just another railway line but a daily lifeline for thousands of people across coastal Karnataka. We request @SWRRLY, @DrmMys sir to take urgent corrective action and ensure punctual, reliable services for the public. @CaptBrijesh @AshwiniVaishnaw @VSOMANNA_BJP @RailMinIndia @GMSRailway @DRMPalghat

@dkdistrictrail A really great decision by SWR to bypass Mangalore city as they very well know that there is huge time loss taking in and out the train. We from coastal Karnataka are very happy about this schedule 💥

Good Friday Special Train Bypassing Mangaluru – Repeated Neglect of Coastal Karnataka It is extremely disappointing to see that South Western Railway has once again chosen to bypass Mangaluru while operating a special train. As per the official notification, Train No. 06271/06272 Yesvantpur–Madgaon–Bengaluru Cantt Express Special (Good Friday Special) is being routed via the Padil Bypass, completely skipping Mangaluru Junction and Mangaluru Central, which are the primary railway stations serving the largest city of Coastal Karnataka. This is not an isolated incident. It is not just the Ugadi Special, almost every special train in recent times has been operated by bypassing Mangaluru and now even during Good Friday, the same pattern is being repeated. This raises a serious question as to why Mangaluru is being consistently ignored in railway planning, even during peak festival and holiday seasons when passenger demand is at its highest. Good Friday is an important occasion, especially for Coastal Karnataka and Mangaluru, where a large number of people travel for religious, personal and family purposes. Special trains are introduced to manage such demand, but in this case, the city itself is being excluded. The train is provided stoppages at Subrahmanya Road, Kabaka Puttur, Bantwala, Surathkal, Udupi and several other stations, yet the main city of Mangaluru is being skipped, which makes the decision highly unreasonable. If the train can run through the entire region and serve multiple stations, what is preventing it from entering Mangaluru Junction or Mangaluru Central, which act as the main railway hubs for the entire district. Mangaluru is not a minor halt but a major urban, economic and commercial centre that generates significant passenger traffic every day. Despite this, it is being repeatedly treated as optional in railway operations. This repeated pattern clearly shows that there is no lack of operational feasibility or path availability, since trains are already passing through this route. The issue lies in planning priorities, where Mangaluru is continuously being sidelined. Such decisions directly affect thousands of passengers who depend on railway connectivity during important travel periods. At the same time, this also raises questions for our elected representatives. When such decisions are being taken repeatedly during multiple festival periods and special train operations, why is there no strong intervention to ensure that Mangaluru is included. People of Dakshina Kannada deserve proper representation and action on issues that affect their connectivity. Special trains are meant to serve people during high-demand periods, not to exclude major population centres. Bypassing Mangaluru while running trains through its own district is not just an operational decision but a clear denial of connectivity to thousands of passengers. We strongly urge @SWRRLY and @RailMinIndia to review such decisions and ensure that future special trains operate via Mangaluru Junction or Mangaluru Central so that passengers from Coastal Karnataka are not neglected. We request @SWRRLY, @RailMinIndia, @AshwiniVaishnaw sir,@VSOMANNA_BJP sir, our MP @CaptBrijesh sir and @KotasBJP sir to kindly intervene and ensure that Mangaluru is not ignored in such decisions. The people of Dakshina Kannada are expecting immediate action. Mangaluru cannot continue to be bypassed in railway planning. Stop bypassing Mangaluru and ensure fair connectivity to Coastal Karnataka. #StopBypassingMangaluru #JusticeForMangaluru #CoastalKarnatakaMatters

Today, the Belagavi–Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express operated with a white-blue livery rake, likely because the original saffron (orange) rake has been sent for POH (Periodic Overhaul) Requesting the authorities to kindly ensure that the same saffron rake is returned to this route

We sincerely thank @CaptBrijesh sir for taking initiative and raising the demand for a dedicated weekend special train between Bengaluru and Mangaluru. This is a long-pending requirement and will greatly benefit passengers from Dakshina Kannada and surrounding regions who regularly travel on this route. After facing back-to-back setbacks and continuous extensions of trains which were earlier running only up to Mangaluru Central, this proposal comes as a big hope for the people of our region. A dedicated service between Bengaluru and Mangaluru Central is the need of the hour, considering the heavy demand and inconvenience faced by passengers, especially during weekends. We hope @RailMinIndia, @GMSRailway and @SWRRLY considers this request positively and implements it at the earliest. At the same time, we strongly hope that this train will be maintained strictly as a dedicated Bengaluru–Mangaluru service and will not be extended further in the future, ensuring that the interests and connectivity of Mangaluru region are fully protected. @AshwiniVaishnaw @DRMPalghat @DrmMys @drmsbc

Despite the strong opposition from people of Mangaluru and other regions of Dakshina Kannada, Train No. 16511/16512 KSR Bengaluru–Kannur Express has now been extended further to Kozhikode. Once again, the voices of Dakshina Kannada have been completely ignored. Both @SWRRLY and @GMSRailway have shown clear injustice to Dakshina Kannada district in this matter. Let us look at the reality: • No Navyug Express for Mangaluru. • No Vande Bharat Express for Mangaluru. • No Mangaluru–Tirupati train via Hassan line. • No extension of Mahalakshmi Express to Mangaluru. But when it comes to extending KSR Bengaluru–Kannur Express, it gets quickly pushed further to Kozhikode. This train was originally dedicated to Mangaluru. Then it was extended to Kannur. Now it is extended again to Kozhikode. Step by step, Mangaluru’s rail connectivity is being diluted, while the concerns of the people of Dakshina Kannada are repeatedly ignored. Even during peak seasons and festivals, special trains to the coast conveniently bypass Mangaluru, despite huge passenger demand. Is this how @SWRRLY treats Karnataka’s second-largest economic hub and one of India’s major GDP-contributing cities? Now that the extension to Kozhikode has been done despite strong public opposition, the least that can be done is to ensure fairness in seat allocation. Maintain the existing 80:20 seat and berth sharing arrangement, where passengers from the Mangaluru–Subrahmanya region receive a larger share, and the beyond-Mangaluru section receives a smaller share. At the very least, ensure justice and fair representation for passengers of Dakshina Kannada. And congratulations to @CaptBrijesh sir for maintaining remarkable silence on this issue. @AshwiniVaishnaw @VSOMANNA_BJP @drmsbc @DrmMys @DRMPalghat

This association is well known as Kerala Lobby. When a train is requested to be extend to Karwar, there is huge massive open opposition to Coastal Karnataka people. When this train got extended to Kannur, none of them opposed. Now they are trying to do some overacting.

The washroom set up for the President lacked water- You are a woman and AT LEAST you should understand THIS.. The route chosen for ferrying the President was littered with garbage. Wear shoes. Be serious. Don’t hide Dehatism by culture and Indian weather rants. There are tons of breathable shoes. Wear socks too. Good quality leather can be worn for entire day & more. Military guys, police everyone wears it. Make public space bearable for everyone.

Started wearing Kolhapuris to office lately. No laces, no sweat, no morning friction. Just walk in and start working. Perfect for Indian weather. Funny how formal shoes built for colder boardrooms became the default here while footwear designed for our climate stayed informal
