Delays on the Bengaluru–Mangaluru route are worsening day by day. Avg delay has crossed 40 min at Subrahmanya Road and over 1 hour at Mangaluru Central. Even today, 16511 is running 20+ min late, now a daily issue. The root cause is the shifting of crossing for 16595/96 from Shiribagilu to Subrahmanya Road, which is disrupting multiple trains including Tr No.16511, Tr No. 16585, Tr No. 56625 & Tr No. 56626. Instead of altering well-established schedules of Tr No. 16511 & Tr No. 16585, it is more practical to revise timings of Tr No. 16595/96 or restore the earlier crossing system at Shiribagilu to avoid cascading delays. Thousands of students, employees & traders depend on this route daily. Kindly take immediate corrective action. @SWRRLY @RailMinIndia @AshwiniVaishnaw @VSOMANNA_BJP @GMSRailway @DrmMys @DRMPalghat @CaptBrijesh

Recent reports and the ground situation clearly show increasing delays in key trains like Tr No. 16511 KSR Bengaluru-Kozhikode Express and Tr No.16585 SMVT Bengaluru-Murudeshwar Express, which were once considered highly reliable lifelines between Bengaluru and Coastal Karnataka. Daily commuters, including students, employees and small business operators, are now facing significant hardship due to consistent delays, making it difficult to reach workplaces, colleges and important commitments on time. The issue has worsened after the shifting of the crossing point of Train 16595/96 KSR Bengaluru-Karwar Panchaganga Express from Shiribagilu to Subrahmanya Road. This operational change has disrupted the smooth movement of trains on this section, leading to cascading delays that are affecting not just these trains but also connecting services in the Mangaluru–Subrahmanya corridor. What was once a dependable route is now becoming unpredictable. Passengers are also concerned about further proposed operational changes, including alterations in train handling and delayed handover timings. Such changes may further degrade punctuality instead of improving it, undermining the long-standing reliability of these services. We sincerely urge @SWRRLY to immediately review the current crossing arrangement and consider restoring the earlier system at Shiribagilu or properly rescheduling Train 16595/96 to avoid interference with other services. At the same time, the existing schedule of Train 16511, especially the early morning handover at Padil around 6:50 AM, must be maintained without disruption. This route is not just another railway line but a daily lifeline for thousands of people across coastal Karnataka. We request @SWRRLY, @DrmMys sir to take urgent corrective action and ensure punctual, reliable services for the public. @CaptBrijesh @AshwiniVaishnaw @VSOMANNA_BJP @RailMinIndia @GMSRailway @DRMPalghat

Bengaluru–Mangaluru would have had an expressway, high-speed rail, and multiple Vande Bharat trains by now. if it belonged to any other state. As usual Karnataka L

Well I be damned My city Mangalore has 3 Railway Division intersecting yet has the least importance given for Railway Infra improvement No wonder it's been under limbo for decades

Despite the strong opposition from people of Mangaluru and other regions of Dakshina Kannada, Train No. 16511/16512 KSR Bengaluru–Kannur Express has now been extended further to Kozhikode. Once again, the voices of Dakshina Kannada have been completely ignored. Both @SWRRLY and @GMSRailway have shown clear injustice to Dakshina Kannada district in this matter. Let us look at the reality: • No Navyug Express for Mangaluru. • No Vande Bharat Express for Mangaluru. • No Mangaluru–Tirupati train via Hassan line. • No extension of Mahalakshmi Express to Mangaluru. But when it comes to extending KSR Bengaluru–Kannur Express, it gets quickly pushed further to Kozhikode. This train was originally dedicated to Mangaluru. Then it was extended to Kannur. Now it is extended again to Kozhikode. Step by step, Mangaluru’s rail connectivity is being diluted, while the concerns of the people of Dakshina Kannada are repeatedly ignored. Even during peak seasons and festivals, special trains to the coast conveniently bypass Mangaluru, despite huge passenger demand. Is this how @SWRRLY treats Karnataka’s second-largest economic hub and one of India’s major GDP-contributing cities? Now that the extension to Kozhikode has been done despite strong public opposition, the least that can be done is to ensure fairness in seat allocation. Maintain the existing 80:20 seat and berth sharing arrangement, where passengers from the Mangaluru–Subrahmanya region receive a larger share, and the beyond-Mangaluru section receives a smaller share. At the very least, ensure justice and fair representation for passengers of Dakshina Kannada. And congratulations to @CaptBrijesh sir for maintaining remarkable silence on this issue. @AshwiniVaishnaw @VSOMANNA_BJP @drmsbc @DrmMys @DRMPalghat

Started wearing Kolhapuris to office lately. No laces, no sweat, no morning friction. Just walk in and start working. Perfect for Indian weather. Funny how formal shoes built for colder boardrooms became the default here while footwear designed for our climate stayed informal
