Matt, While questions are always warranted, and there are valid issues to discuss surrounding this conflict, your comment here is totally out of line, inaccurate, and unbecoming of someone in your position — and I say this as an American citizen and a proud patriot. Your response to this young woman who is in Canada as a refugee because of the oppression of the Islamic regime against her personally, is frankly disgusting. Ida, despite being Canadian, has done more to advocate *for America* than the majority of immigrants *to America* in recent years. If you took the time to educate yourself about this issue, you might actually see that the Iranian community and the Iranian-American community is among the most pro-America groups on earth. They make the case for America when even other Americans will not. Your comments are way out of line and totally unnecessary. Furthermore, Ida literally thanked President Trump in her post to you, and correctly attacked the cowardly Democrat administration of Jimmy Carter which stabbed the Shah in the back in 1979 and cleared the pathway for Khomeini to come to power which, as she explained, disproportionately harmed American citizens. This isn’t a personal attack on you, or on America — it’s a historical fact and one that I would think you’d agree with given the outrageous tyranny of so much of the leftist ideology and what Carter actually stood for. At no point did Ida “demand” Americans “fight and die” on behalf of Iranians — in fact she argued the opposite, that this is something that threatens Americans directly. I work closely with this community and I have never heard a single Iranian “demand” anything you said here. Your intentional mischaracterization of the issue and of Ida’s words is something I wouldn’t expect from someone like you. Finally, what kind of argument is **foreigners** (as if they’re all the same?!) are “demanding and taking and stealing from us. Never giving anything in return. Never saying thank you.” The woman you’re attacking literally thanks the American president IN THE POST YOURE QUOTING. Not to mention the fact that Iranian Americans contribute massively to the United States… why on earth would you think it’s acceptable to speak this way about people who are advocates and allies of America? You come off like disgruntled and uneducated instead of someone raising legitimate discussion points or asking questions in good faith about figures like Reza Pahlavi.
