Jessica Winter has been raising her children to detest A.I. Then her daughter’s public middle school began receiving Google Chromebooks, which came pre-installed with an all-ages version of Gemini, a suite of A.I. tools. “When my daughter, who is in sixth grade, begins writing an essay, she gets a prompt: ‘Help me write,’ ” Winter writes. “If she is starting work on a slide-show presentation, the prompt is ‘Help me visualize.’ She shoos away these interruptions, but they persist: ‘Help me edit.’ ‘Beautify this slide.’ ” Proponents of generative A.I. in elementary and middle schools argue that such early exposure will foster digital-media literacy, and prepare them for a future in which most professions are steeped in A.I. But the technology also poses significant cognitive and social-emotional risks to young people. An HIV-positive man with colon cancer, unable to work for four years, lived in his Los Angeles apartment for almost 25 years.
He says he mailed his rent on time. The landlord said the check never arrived and filed for eviction.
After a trial, a jury ruled he DID mail the payment, but since it wasn't cashed, they said he failed to pay on time.
A judge ordered him out. Sheriff's deputies escorted him from his home of a quarter-century.
He took his dog, Simba, and his clothes. He left behind his furniture, his blankets, his two TVs, and his beloved Madonna CDs.
He's now homeless, sleeping on a friend's sofa.
The system will evict a dying man over a payment dispute.
But a corporation can squat in bankruptcy court for years? "That's a different matter entirely."

Parents who want to homeschool their children should be required to take a competency test because so many of these parents are too dumb to teach their kids anything and the kids suffer because of it. “Hahaha I forgot to teach science and social studies!” Congratulations, your kid is going to be educationally underdeveloped.

France made this wastefulness illegal cause it’s cruel and only causes more waste issues. Any food market or restaurant over 400 square meters has to donate all their good unsold food to charities and are fined if they do anything like this. That law should be applied everywhere

It's really nice to see a Marvel actor speak out against AI and the firing of the visual development team. They've been absolutely vital to the MCU and without artists, there are no Marvel movies.

This is actually an excellent example of cartoony realism. The sheep look anatomically correct. They’re sheep BUT what the CGI does instead of keeping them completely realistic is give them some cartoonish expressions to be able to tell emotions & thoughts. TAKE NOTES DISNEY!
