A new drone attack on the Moscow oil refinery in Kapotnya.

Moscow. 15 km from the Kremlin. The Special Military Operation.

Residents of Russia’s Yaroslavl region reported a black “oil rain” after strikes on a local oil depot. But Governor Mikhail Yevrayev reassured everyone: it was merely “ordinary soot” According to the official, such fallout poses no danger to people, plants, or agriculture. Almost like regular rain — except it’s black, oily, and smells like petroleum products. Doctors disagree. They warn that oil droplets can cause burns and allergic reactions, while the air during and after such rainfall may be saturated with toxic substances, including benzene vapors and sulfur oxides. But perhaps those are outdated ideas about safety. In today’s Russia, oil rain is apparently just a slightly upgraded version of fresh air.
