Her name is Pratiksha Tondwalkar. She was born in 1964 in Pune into a Scheduled Caste family. When she was in Class 7, her father decided to pull her out of school and get her married. Her teacher begged him to let her continue. She even offered to pay for Pratiksha’s education herself. Her father refused. She was married at 17. Her husband Sadashiv Kadu worked as a bookbinder at a Mumbai branch of the State Bank of India. When she was 20, he died in a road accident. She was left with a two year old son and no education. She walked into the same SBI branch to collect her late husband’s dues. She told the bank she needed any job they could give her. They gave her a broom. She swept floors. She dusted furniture. She cleaned restrooms. She earned Rs 65 a month. She said in an interview whenever my son asked for a packet of biscuits I would get off the bus one stop early just to save the fare money to buy them for him. After work, she enrolled in night college in Vikhroli. She completed Class 10 with first class marks. Then Class 12. Then a psychology degree. Bank colleagues helped her study whenever they could. Her parents pressured her to remarry immediately. She refused until she had graduated. She was promoted from sweeper to messenger to clerk. She remarried in 1993. Her husband Pramod Tondwalkar encouraged her to take the banking officer exams. She cleared them. She rose from trainee officer to Scale 4 to Chief General Manager. In 2022, she became Assistant General Manager of the State Bank of India. The same bank where she once cleaned restrooms for Rs 65 a month gave her its highest management honour 40 years later. TVK’s senior-most minister Sengottaiyan has reportedly been left deeply frustrated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay. Sengottaiyan was said to be eagerly expecting one among the Public Works, Rural Development, or Municipal Administration portfolios. However, Vijay first allotted him the Finance Department, which reportedly came as a shock. After he expressed his dissatisfaction, the portfolio was changed to Revenue and Disaster Management during the cabinet expansion. Even then, he was deeply disappointed that he did not get the department he had sought. The key portfolios he wanted have now gone to Chief Minister Vijay and ministers Anand and Aadhav, making it virtually impossible for him to secure them in the future. Meanwhile, his demand to accommodate his supporters in the cabinet was reportedly ignored. The ministerial seniority list has further upset his camp, with Arunraj placed fourth and Sengottaiyan fifth. In the announcement of district-wise ministerial responsibilities, Anand and Aadhav were assigned two districts each, while Sengottaiyan was allotted only Erode district. ‘Sengottaiyan is not being given importance, his supporters are being sidelined, and he is not even able to immediately reach Vijay and speak to him whenever he wishes. @Alex79099586 Why should they share power, Dmk were very clear on their policy of no power sharing in state. If Congress did not like the stand they could ve walked out of the alliance before polls. Same for not sharing power in state in 2006 Cong should ve dropped them from cabinet.

DMK's issue isn't that Congress joined the TVK government taking 2 ministers. Their issue is that Congress,never fully fought the election alongside DMK. • No Rahul-Stalin campaign. • No serious pushback when Vijay claimed the "real Congress" was with TVK. • No Priyanka Gandhi campaign in Tamil Nadu. • Congress like Praveen Chakravarthy leaders engaging with TVK even before the polls. The result? Chemistry of the entire alliance got spoilt, Congress votes didn't transfer effectively outside Kanyakumari. In 2024, when Rahul needed MPs, Stalin was his "brother", he purchased sweets for him jumping across the divider, whereas, In 2026, when Stalin needed MLAs, Rahul wasn't on the campaign trail. That's what DMK see as the real betrayal.

It is a sacred space where a calm atmosphere should prevail, with devotional chants and hymns filling the surroundings. Therefore, the display of political party flags, symbols, and the raising of slogans in the names of political leaders are practices that must be avoided. A temple should remain a temple. #HRCE Minister @RameshOffcl has conveyed this message in the right spirit. Likewise, his inspection at Kallazhagar Temple is a welcome move. Several issues there, including the long pending salary concerns of temple employees, had remained unresolved for years. It is encouraging that these matters have now been taken up for review and examination during the inspection.

Notably, "Bhand" is officially listed as a Scheduled Caste in Rajasthan, and members of the Bhand community live across India. I strongly condemn this and demand an immediate ban on the film until the objectionable part is reviewed and edited by the Central Board of Film Certification. The actor Akshay Kumar, along with the writer and director, must be booked under the SC-ST Act if the law has been violated. As public figures, their words and actions have a significant impact on society. Such derogatory language in films can normalize casteist slurs against Scheduled Caste communities in India. How could the writer, director, producer, and a large team of filmmakers and actors, including Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Rajpal Yadav, Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, and Lara Dutta, overlook such a casteist and offensive term? I urge the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC), the Government of Rajasthan and the concerned authorities to take urgent cognizance of this matter. The movie should be reviewed immediately, and appropriate action should be taken without any delay.
