I just got lost into the French 🇫🇷 « indie hacker » bubble, and wow - Everyone’s telling everyone what to do, convinced they know better - Super agressive and/or sarcastic, bitter tone everywhere - Linkedin-like bullshit content full of big words by people with no experience - Almost no products, no links, no websites, no proof, never heard or saw most people - Everyone criticizing everything I scrolled for half an hour… What’s going on with my fellow French people? Couldn't we be a little nicer and more humble?

J'ai honte de publier ça. Sur les réseaux tout le monde gagne. Tout le monde signe des clients. Tout le monde scale. Moi en ce moment ? Rien. J'ai 5 ans d'expérience. Je travaille 12h par jour, tous les jours depuis des années. J'ai 5 étoiles sur Malt et 10 clients satisfaits. Pourtant, mon agenda est vide. Mon compte en banque aussi. Parce que je n'ai pas appris à vendre. Je pensais que bien bosser suffisait. Que les clients reviendraient. Que le bouche à oreille ferait le travail. C'est faux. Être bon c'est le minimum. C'est pas un avantage. Alors au lieu de faire semblant, je pose les cartes sur la table. Je suis dev React / Next senior. J'étais CTO pendant 3 ans. Ce que je fais : → Applications web SaaS → Applications mobiles React Native → Agents IA (support client, onboarding, automatisation) Le code est propre. Testé. Livré à temps. Il t'appartient. Tout est sur algomax.fr Et je t'offre 30% de commission si tu m'apportes un client. Ce post me coûte peut-être ma crédibilité. Mais mentir me coûterait plus cher.

Programming languages have so far been designed for humans (e.g. readability is of paramount importance), but in the era of coding agents, I wonder when we will see the rise of new programming languages that aim at making models as efficient as possible.

Je viens d’avoir un entretien pour un poste a 50% pour arrondir mon activité indé, sur mon CV ils ont vu jeux-vidéo en loisir, j’ai parlé sans honte que je jouais pas mal a COD, le patron aussi visiblement. Puis il a compris que j’étais lv300, tous les camos etc. J’ai cru avoir dit une bêtise mais il était content en mode "ouais ca prouve votre tenacité et votre motivation quand vous commencez qqch bla bla". Si j’ai un poste en partie grâce au fait que je suis un puant ces dernières semaines….

A very interesting read for those who want to understand the evolution of the power dynamics between the US and China. I didn’t feel there was a strong political agenda behind it, which is definitely a plus. Really recommend it (a bit hard to get into, though).

🎓🥳 This Thursday, I successfully defended my doctoral thesis titled "Shape representations for intuitive modeling and generation", in which I developed methods for easing the process of digital modeling: interpolating curves, sketch-based shape modeling, fabrication-ready generation, or gradient-based mesh optimization... there's actually something for everyone in there! I'm excited for the future!
