What a performance from Ollie Watkins. When he's at his best I think he's the only capable understudy to Harry Kane that England have. Must be on the plane. #AVFC

Whatever league #SaintsFC are in next season, they will have to deal with new SCR (squad cost ratio) rules, after 20/24 Championship clubs voted yes to it. Means 85% of revenue can be spent on player costs, but it's another rule that appears to have ways of surpassing it.

🚨 Squad Cost Ratio (SCR) rules will be implemented in the Championship next season after 20/24 clubs voted in favour — SCR will cap spending at 85% of revenue & replace PSR #saintsfc @JPercyTelegraph

Not sure any player in the EFL will have a better catalogue of goals this season if you take into account the circumstances and quality of these from Shea Charles 👇

@SFCJoeyy_ I need to have a proper look at the details but definitely not that high, as transfer fees are ammortised and that would go past parachute payments expiring, so be a huge risk

@Sam__SFC @PaulAntonybell It depends if revenue stays high. Should always be better than most clubs in the league realistically

@Danwulfe Clubs can spend up to 115% of income on players without a sporting sanction basically, breaches the rule but a points deduction only comes in at 115%

After an amazing spell covering Saints for the Echo, I will be stepping away from the role at the end of the season. Three years on the beat and there’s never really been a dull moment, except, maybe, the second half of last season, but it's time for a new challenge. #SaintsFC

Long term impacts of this nonsense could be huge. Sending an analyst to Boro was never enough of a sporting advantage to do it. Dragan Solak will be furious. #SaintsFC

@DJL100671156000 Long term impacts - People being sacked, club's reputation in the gutter, points deduction Sporting advantage - Promotion, at the cost of the short term impacts like fines and disrepute Think it's pretty clear that I'm condemning Saints cheating here

@SWFCNorthYorks I get that it's a significant advantage mate, what I mean is that it doesn't make it a big enough one to warrant doing it. It's an embarrassment

@AlexComber_ If he was recording penalty practising with the potential of a penalty shoot out deciding the outcome of the tie, which there nearly was, then this would be a significant advantage, as your team would know about the players taking etc. Hope that clarifies.

@SWFCNorthYorks Not big enough sporting advantage - because there is never a good enough advantage to cheat. That's what I mean

@AlexComber_ Are you sure it wasn’t an advantage? What if he was recording and analysing penalty practices in case of a shoot out, which it nearly was. Do you not think that this would be a very significant advantage, because I do. Your manager needs to tell the truth and be sacked or resign.

@p_mards No sporting advantage is ever worthy of risking the club's reputation, people's jobs, or anything like that. It can be both nonsense and dreadful at the same time

@AlexComber_ Knowing your opponents formation, injured players, set-pieces & penalty takers is a massive sporting advantage going into a play-off semi final. You said what Southampton did was "dreadful" on 10th May, but now it's nonsense? The club has let Southampton fans down with cheating
