"Kallie, in collaboration with 🇨🇦 Sauce Rosin Labs, are set to be one of the first UK brands to offer live rosin loose extracts." ➡️ medbud.wiki/extracts/kalli… We expect further details over the next week or two, including size, pricing and patient leaflets. The manufacturer, @GrowGroupUK, are also offering training sessions for doctors unfamiliar with the format. It's also the first product we've seen with CBG content registered as an active ingredient, which is subject to a ±10% allowed variance as tested.

@MedBudUK It's work that needs doing but I don't believe MB is the right outlet. The work you do is integral and too important to dilute imho. Equally, patients need a dedicated advocacy org - the fact you are pulled in to do this work shows there's a gaping hole for a patient org to fill!

We've been at this now for over 3½ years, trying to cover every new medication or company reliably as the industry grows. We've also tried to fairly report on all patient/company/medication issues and controversy, causing many battles and multiple legal threats behind the scenes over time. It's that latter part which causes stress, conflict and drama, time and time again. Our inboxes get stuffed every day with patient issues, and we've expected to wade in and fight patient's corner at every turn - yet it also genuinely inhibits making progress on our platform otherwise, and is incredibly draining personally. We're making the tough decision to stop getting involved with patient issues, to stop reporting on controversy ourselves, and instead leave patients to report and discuss on our forums, Reddit, Facebook groups, by YouTubers etc. There's enough larger platforms out there these days for patients to be able to make themselves heard sufficiently, without us having to get involved directly. Our mandate is to cover medication/industry company information, and frankly not act as the organisation trying to self-police the entire industry. The former we're consistently praised for, the latter causes constant controversy. Those whom know me personally, know just how important it is to me that companies are properly held to account, that non-compliant policies are challenged, and that patient's issues are challenged/resolved - but I've made the decision, it's not my job and I refuse to do it any longer. Patients can speak for themselves, without us amplifying their voice. We're going back to our roots and focusing on improving our core information services and platform. We're also doing all we can to polish up our accounts system, ready for centralised public reviews to launch across all companies/medications - this coverage alone should catch and highlight issues by default, without our manual intervention. I hope others understand our reasoning here – there's truly only so much weight we can carry on our shoulders.

@AlexFraserCanna @MedBudUK I am after instructions on how to deal with police, from stating the legislation, to next steps if they simply don’t accept that it’s legal meds, as we’ve seen countless instances of meds still being seized after script and ID is shown

🚔 A northern police force has reached out, noting an increase in the amount of cannabis-related cases where they're required to validate lawful possession. We're told that they "would like to try and reduce the number of occasions that [they] are seizing cannabis that may have been supplied legitimately." The force is looking for guidance and assistance on "developing best practice around stop and search powers". This isn't the first time a force has contacted us looking for help with validating possession, but there's the possibility here to collaborate directly with one force on developing better guidance/procedures, which could later be circulated to forces across the country. This is something we'd want to collaborate on with numerous other prescribers/clinics/companies to ensure is best for all. We've also reached out to @CannCareUK to figure out the feasibility of providing provide 24/7 phone support services for the police - something we've discussed before - where meds could be cross-checked against our database, known clinics, pharmacies etc. Either way, as below, police very much need clearer guidance at this point - as far too many patients keep ending up arrested for entirely lawful possession.

@MedBudUK I’m still trying to find some kind of bullet pointed list telling me what to do and say in the event of police contact regarding medical cannabis. It makes me very anxious knowing that I could be treated like a criminal whilst not being able to get my words out

@MedBudUK @TheGPhC Wrong regulatory body but agree with what you're saying. GMC register for consultants. GphC is pharmacists registry.

A patient's first consultation/prescription should always be handled by a @TheGPhC registered specialist, specialised in treating that patient's specific condition(s). To the best of our understanding 'shared care' cannot be enacted until a patient is through MDT (a peer-review process required to ascertain suitability for prescribing unlicensed medication). Shared care is where for example GPs, prescribing pharmacists, or specialist nurses handle intermediary care/communication in conjunction with a specialist. Some clinics are allegedly attempting to use shared care staff to handle initial consultations, which is highly likely to be penalised by @CQCProf and deemed non-compliant. Just a word of caution to others, based on feedback from our medical director on certain clinic's alleged conduct.

@MedBudUK @cocoj69 This response is perfect. Personally find the Medbud labels problematic and likely to cause further confusion with authorities (much like a certain card that claimed to validate legality), but props for being upfront. Something to this effect on the labels page would be great 🙏

Completely legal, but advisable? Perhaps not. We're working on a disclaimer at the moment which pops up before download with some guidance. It is perfectly legal to remove your medication from original packaging and put it in any other container, the problem comes that if you find yourself being questioned by the police or others over the legitimacy of cannabis possession - it simply looks worse to have medication in unofficial packaging. When there's already an issue with police awareness of prescription legality, patients with even less official looking packaging are almost certainly going to be faced with further scrutiny. We ultimately decided it was right to provide the means for patients to print repackaging labels simply because so many patients already repackage - and having some label available (prompting to check prescription to verify lawful possession) is arguably better than having none at all, or having to handwrite one. Personally, I'd only use these labels inside the house. Outside, we have to recommend medication is kept in an official foil-pack or tub.

After testing out prints here, I'm not sure if we actually need to change font sizes whatsoever for our prepackaging labels.

@MedBudUK @realDonaldTrump Decriminalising it is a possibility, but I don't get the impression this is a focus in Trumps govt, and imho won't be popular with his voter base. Little of the product grown in USA would meet the required standards for European medical markets, so won't be able to sell there.

@MedBudUK @PeterCClub ... FWIW, I would have no issue with decrim of possession+ GYO. This is why it's annoying to see the medical argument being used. It serves neither the medical cannabis space nor those who desire GYO. Decrim GYO for all makes more sense and is what the enthusiasts actually want.
