@ModelRailClub @Yourallypally We are looking forward to being part of the show this weekend with Splott. Having been visitors for most of the 25 years, and IMREX/EUFMO before that, it will be great to be exhibiting with a layout for the first time. Can’t wait and limbering up for the hill already! 😀

@CrecyRail Purchased this at NEC ex. Have bought all D Larkin’s previous books & was looking forward to it. Whilst overall the book is as good as previous 1s, the repro of some photos is disappointing. A number are very dark to the point of not being able to see much of the wagon pictured.

@NoelDolphin With greater electrification it would make the justification slightly easier, but there is currently no incentive for OTM owners to make the significant extra invest in hybrid tech worthwhile which would also need to change.

Austria, Finland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland (obviously), France, Denmark, and Sweden all have plans.

Working on a project looking at the maintenance train strategies around Europe. What strikes me is that almost every country is moving towards electric/battery maintenance vehicles. I think we will be stuck with diesel for a long time (1/2).

@NickCar23619332 The path is still there and it is accessible from the platform, however it is gated.

@RailwayHeritage Checking on Google Streetview it was still there 2 years ago as it this pic. About half way across on the East side of the bridge.

Can anyone help? I recently had a walk across the HLB when I was in Newcastle recently but couldn't find the plaque @RailwayHeritage provided following the bridge restoration work in 2008. Is it still there and was I just looking in the wrong place?

@RWilcockrail Vehicle maintenance work will end and the current Doncaster site close, but components work will continue for Wabtec in the UK at either the existing sites or at another new facility. Important for those involved that the facts are correctly stated.

@AlexHallRailInf It doesn't appear to be the case now. Sounds like all projects will be completed and the site shut

Wabtec has confirmed that its Doncaster works will be shutting, putting 300 jobs at risk Work could move to Derby but Wabtec will withdraw from vehicle maintenance in the UK.

After a 4 week investigation NR said it must have been a trespasser & not a contractor, who was repairing the platform building roof, wearing PPE from the contractor repairing the roof, & who was acknowledged by the site manager. Who stole nothing and just repaired a roof.

Found someone doing something very unsafe. Reported to the station staff, who said it was a Network Rail issue. Reported it to the TOC, who said it was a Network Rail issue.... despite it being a contractor working for the TOC. So, eventually, I reported to Network Rail. (1/2)

@MillsyModels @mattymidland The bogies are Bachmann part 36-038 which are incorrectly titled Y25 type. They are in stock with a number of retailers Rails, Kernow, etc. Not sure on the screws though. Hope that helps.

#TMRGUK I NEED YOUR HELP‼️ I’m after Five Bachmann intermodal bogies+wheels, and the screws to go with them to attach them to the body! I’ve cleared out Bachmann of their stock so if anyone has any lying around or broken that they’d be willing to sell please let me know!
