America was told abortion would be rare. Instead it became profitable, political, and protected by institutions terrified of losing control.

@JamesSurowiecki If you thought it was murder you would be calling for Trump's arrest right now. His IVF policy alone will kill millions. Yeah, I don't see you causing a ruckus over this.

We know most anti-abortion supporters don't believe abortion is murder because most of them do not support punishing women who have abortions as murderers. No state that bans abortion treats women who have abortions as murderers (or, in fact, as criminals at all). And every time a bill to do so is offered, it dies without ever even coming to a vote. That would not happen if most opponents of abortion genuinely believe it is the moral equivalent of infanticide.

@buttonslives Find a good church out of the Wesleyan tradition. Nazarene, Wesleyan, Church of God (Anderson), Methodist (not United), etc. These will help you understand evil and OUR role in it. Many Baptists, Presbyterians, Reformed, etc. ultimately place evil in the hands of God. No bueno.

I think I’m going to give church another try. I need help understanding evil. Which kind of church talks about that?

@pooltroof @IARepD5 Don't you find it hypocritical that you don't call for the arrest of President Trump for the murder of all the IVF babies he is bringing about, but you call for the arrest of mothers who abort their babies? 1 will be a mass murder of millions the other is simply the murderer of 1

This man has the same health condition which causes many parents to murder their children…. Make it make sense? He’ll protect your ability to murder your baby and try to help you conceive them? Make it make sense? Oh wait… it doesn’t.
Josh Turek@turek4iowa

Health care is a human right, and that includes reproductive health care. In the Senate, I’ll fight to make Roe v. Wade the law of the land again, address Iowa’s OBGYN crisis, and protect access to contraception and IVF.

@pooltroof @IARepD5 If you are saying abortion rates have risen over the last 8 years, you are correct. It started under Trump 45, continued under Biden even though Dobbs came into effect, and is continuing to rise under Trump 47. You show another reason why the GOP is not the answer.

@AlexHam1111 @IARepD5 I’m not running for office. There were over a million recorded abortions in the US last year.

@pooltroof @IARepD5 OK. To make that statement means 1. You have no clue about the rate of abortion. You are making stuff up. 2. You care about political power over dead babies. It's a sad reality in today's world.

@AlexHam1111 @IARepD5 Abortion is at record levels and climbing brother, and to state that you believe democrats are the solution to abortion is a measure of gross imbecility. Rep Dieken has introduced bills of equal justice three years in a row. Democrats seek to expand abortion access nationwide.

@pooltroof @IARepD5 That's a lie. Guttmacher isn't the same thing as the CDC. Guttmacher is a liberal organization that is pained to see those steep declines.

@AlexHam1111 @IARepD5 All of the “declines” your graph shows can be attributed merely to the absence of California reporting abortions to the CDC. They stopped submitting data in 1997. To suggest democrats are somehow “better” on abortion is akin to letting the inmates run the asylum.

Some of you wonder why Christians speak so boldly about abortion, culture, and truth right now.  Because when you know God, you stop fearing public opinion.
You stop needing applause.
You stop compromising just to fit in.  Strength rooted in Christ looks different.

@DirkWalstead Paul makes it abundantly clear what worthily means as he writes this letter to the Corinthians. Reading your own theology and definition of "worthily" into this passage is twisting the meaning of the scripture.

@DirkWalstead The context of the pericope answers your question in regards to this passage.

Heard from an area church: “At ______ church you don’t have to believe, in order to belong. You don’t have to have your theology figured out in order to have a seat at our table. Some of the most intelligent people in the world do not believe in the Bible” What in the world? 🤷

So Republicans have a 40-8 majority in the Oklahoma Senate, yet we couldnt get more than 14 votes behind the proposition that illegals should not get medicaid. Again, when you think the problem nationally is the filibuster or not enough of a majority, you are wrong. Most Republicans support illegal immigration so long as they dont have a criminal record. The Freedom Caucus is the only driving force against it.
Oklahoma Freedom Caucus@OKFreedomCaucus

The OK Senate finally took a break from their vacation to show up to work today. So the OK Freedom Caucus just forced a vote on HB4423 to prohibit illegal aliens from getting Medicaid. Everyone who voted ✅ voted for the bill to STOP welfare benefits to illegals. Everyone else voted against passing the bill…

@DirkWalstead 3. They should take the elements in a worthy manner! What does that mean? Paul says, "For those who eat and drink without DISCERNING THE BODY OF CHRIST eat and drink judgment on themselves." The Table is open to all who will partake of these symbols of grace...worthily.

@DirkWalstead 2. Read 1 Cor 11. The church was treating each other horribly. "I have no praise for you," "there are divisions among you," "it's not the Lord's Supper you eat," "do you despise the Church of God?" Paul then gives directives about how the body of Christ should treat each other.

@DirkWalstead Paul makes clear in 1 Cor 11 that the table should be open with 1 requirement: You take the supper in a worthy manner. What is to be worthy? You discern the body of Christ. It's clear from the whole context the "body" is the church. It's the whole reason for this passage.

@AlexHam1111 Are people welcome to come and see, yes. Are they welcome to become members or have a “seat at the table” as unbelievers, no. Why? Because that’s what the NT teaches. True fellowship is defined by being “in Christ”

@DirkWalstead If your church doesn't have people who "come and see" even to the point of feeling a sense of belonging before they believe, you have to ask if your church is being biblical.

@DirkWalstead You don't the blind man who was healed by Jesus felt like he belonged? Or the woman at Simon's house? Or many in the crowds who were fed? Or the strangers that we are told to welcome? Belonging can precede believing.
