We are deeply saddened by the passing of Mick Hunt, former Head Groundsman at Lord's.
Mick was a very popular character among MCC Members and staff, and his huge smile a permanent feature around the Ground for 49 years, having joined the Lord's groundstaff in 1969 and retiring in 2018.
Few people can attest to being so indelibly connected to the history of Lord's.
We offer our sincere condolences to his family.

Mick may have been one of the old guard, but he was also one of the modern greats in sports turf management. He made my transition so easy when I first started at Lord’s. I’ll never forget him saying ‘It’s all yours now’. His legacy will always live on at the Home of Cricket.

T20 matches this week @UtilitaBowl couple pitches used for games Monday Wednesday&Thursday crazy month of cricket have been challenged in many ways but overall very happy with what has been produced managing prep around and during games is always a good challenge

With in different weather this week we’ve still managed a productive few days @UtilitaBowl squares and outfields being sprayed with @TurfCare_IRL_UK prowet evolve helping move the water through allowing us to give some squares their first cut, run ups spiked and seeded too.
