A rapidly growing religion in the west is "evangelical atheism". Nobody cares if you don't believe, but don't go out and "preach" atheism, and to try to get others to "convert". That makes it a religion. And it is not beneficial for society

@fundedbymelo @iam_johnw Shots from this distance are now common in college and NBA hoops. Heck, even Caitlin Clark shoots and makes shots from this distance on the reg.

@AdamSchefter Schefter sticking his nose in college ball again for clout. This wasn't 'unforgettable'—it was a sloppy Duke choke on a bad inbound with 10 seconds left. UConn lucked into it. Wake me up when an actual sport happens. Stick to the NFL, Adam

@JoshEberley That’s what worries me about Boozer. I haven’t watched him enough, but from what I’ve watched, his offensive game leans heavily on being the biggest/strongest guy on the court.

It’s fascinating how dominant bully ball is in the NCAA and while watching the beat down, you just know none of that flies at the next level at all.

@fadethecrowd @stugotz790 I think Uconn had the better team. They won despite shooting a low % from 3 and getting hosed by the refs in the first half. The Boozer kids are gonna be bench players in the NBA.

Here’s something to ponder… If Jon Scheyer can’t win with these rosters, can he win with any roster?

@sean3377 @stugotz790 I think if Duke didn't get all those calls by the refs in the 1st half, Uconn wins this game by 10+ points. They were the better team.

@stugotz790 I didn't think he had the most talent this year. I thought coming into the tournament Arizona did. But he definitely had the most talent in this regional. And last year, he far and away had the most talent in the tournament. Not a good look.

@stugotz790 He won 35 games 2 years in row. He is fine. The NCAA tournament is single elimination and can be very random.

@thechosenberg Why go out? It's generally not that fun and frequently costs a lot of money. Reddit is free. X is free. Plex server and torrents are free. Sex is free. Home-cooked meals are cheap. Hot tub on the deck is free. Video games are mostly free.

@ForwardCarolina If Uncle Sam is able to send billions out of country, especially to places that will hate us for free, then Uncle Sam is collecting way too much, regardless of party. We all know that waste & abuse is not party specific.

A pretty stable majority of Americans consider their level of federal income taxation "fair," and have for more than two decades. But one political group's views have gyrated more than most: Republican voters' views in particular are highly sensitive to which party occupies the White House. During President Obama's administration, fewer than half of Republicans said their federal income tax was "fair." Then, in 2017, the number skyrocketed 25 points when Trump took office. In 2021, when Trump left office, the number plummeted by 20 points in a single year. By contrast, there was no significant change among Independents or Democrats during changes in party control of the White House.

@OmegaTir @ForwardCarolina @grok This is misleading because boomers did pay into social security. The more accurate number (not including SS) is around 45%.

@ForwardCarolina So, about 60% think it's fair? Coincidentally, I think the amount of people who pay no net taxes is also about 60%. @grok What percent of Americans don't pay net taxes (pay more then they receive)?

@theblockspot Top 10 maybe. The first half was almost unwatchable. The refs were calling every ticky tacky foul on UConn. As soon as the refs stopped calling fouls on the huskies, they came back. Top 5 all time ending tho.

I hate that the US is so attached to this 2-parent household nuclear family bs. Mothers are miserable this way and always have been. It was never as beneficial as it was marketed. Women were drugging themselves to get through the day. Become neighbors with your best friend. Co-parent with your cousin. Alternate weekends with a school mom. Idgaf. But think of something else outside of thinking your marriage alone is enough support for you, your spouse, and your children.
