Here’s what people need to understand: The American Economy is the worst it’s been since 2008 and a family of four cannot afford to go to the movies more than 2-3 times a year. If it comes down to an original animated movie or an iconic IP, the family is going to pick the iconic IP.

@BlackMajikMan90 It is sad that less than 500M is considered really good for an original pixar film these days. Just a sign of the lack of appetite for original stories in general when Tpy Sorry 5 will probably make a billion dollars

Make good movies and people will show up.

@DillonLWhitcomb @Elite_4_J Yeah I thought the gen2 legendary looked like cats but I always thought they were called dogs by the creators and that's why the fans call them that but i guess I'm wrong on that? That's interesting about Shinx I guess the name makes sense but it looks more like a dog than a lynx

@AlexMinNZ @Elite_4_J No. Gen 2 are called the Legendary Beasts and pull inspiration from multiple animals but are mainly cat based (Sabretooth, Lion, Leopard). The Shinx line pulls inspiration from multiple breeds of big cat, and Lynx.

@MovieEndorser I really like Gosling but he's the sort of actor where I love lots of his movies but heaps of them feel like my second favorite Gosling performance and none feel like my favourite... PHM, LLL, Barbie, Drive, Br2049 and more all amazing 8-9/10 movies but none are a 10 to me

hey so as an improvisor myself, she had one of the best performances in this challenge. improv lingo but, she had the most fleshed out want and pov. she couldve “yes and”ed more, but all the girls couldve. she had strong initiations and gave ru plenty of gifts. this was rigged.

Just gonna say it, the Mario movie was one of the most soulless & bland pieces of entertainment I ever watched. An hour and a half of a recognizable IP’s iconography being shoved in your face with no real story, character development or anything to connect with emotionally.

@Im_Mattx @RicFromSSS This is a movie though not a game so we should judge it a how well it works as a movie, which generally requires story/plot since it doesn't have gameplay to make it worthwhile

@Shafer1337 @EPeen1273352 @RicFromSSS They can do a lot more than just use adult humour, they can tell an impactful story that works regardless of your age. Adult humour is the cheapest most basic way to make animated movies work for multiple ages and isn't what anyone is asking for here

@EPeen1273352 @RicFromSSS No, I’m describing what a movie made for kids is. Some kids movies are also for adults because they use humor adults will understand, but not all kid movies do this

Before people cry and say this is a “Sonic fan’s bias”, I don’t think the Sonic movies are high art by any means. It’s acceptable family affair, but they have genuine soul behind them and the fundamentals of a movie. I can’t say the same for Illumination’s Mario.
