@TXMCtrades Correct. The only quick and assured way is recession, a long and troubled one. Not that I suggest we should have a recession, though. Another solution is very high taxation, which would likely lead to a recession anyway. Not that I believe any party on Earth would ever do it.

Unfortunately when debt levels are this high, raising rates does less for inflation because it transfers money to existing asset holders (the wealthy creditor class) who enjoy healthy yields, and they keep spending. Top 10% now account for 50% of consumption, an all time high.

std::map allocates a heap node for every entry. That's a tree of scattered pointers your CPU prefetcher can't follow. You're paying for cache misses the data structure chose, not ones your problem requires 🧵👇
