BREAKING: "Are You Igbo or Yoruba?" – Surulere Aspirant Aremu Olalekan Abdulateef Exposed for Dressing in Igbo Attire, Posting Campaign Posters in Igbo Language The people of Surulere Constituency II are angry. And they have every right to be. Aremu Olalekan Abdulateef, a man seeking to represent them in the federal House of Representatives, has been caught on camera wearing full Igbo traditional attire. His campaign posters are written in the Igbo language. He is pandering to non-Yoruba voters while expecting Yoruba people to queue behind him on election day. Let this be clear: Surulere is Yoruba land. The constituency is Yoruba. The votes that will decide this election are predominantly Yoruba. So why is Aremu Abdulateef dressing like an Igbo chief? Why is he campaigning in Igbo language? Who is he planning to represent in Abuja – the Yoruba people of Surulere or an Igbo bloc that has no ancestral claim to the land? This is a slap on the face of every Yoruba voter in the constituency. We have seen this game before. Aspirants who beg for our votes but owe their loyalty to outsiders. Aspirants who will sell our interests the moment they get to office. Aremu Abdulateef must answer these questions now. Not tomorrow. Not after the election. If you cannot campaign as a Yoruba man in Yoruba land, you do not deserve to lead Yoruba people.

@TheYorubaTimes In Igboland, if an igbo does this, it would be a guaranteed defeat for him. People that deliberately spread news about an opponent having a middle yoruba name so that he could lose.

You still don't get it. You cannot come from the East to enforce your philosophy on what leadership should be in Yorubaland to suit your devious agenda.... There is a reason our fathers checkmated Zik and chased him out of Yorubaland.... It is because we don't like to hear insulting talks like this. You cannot come to Yorubaland..... hold office representing a region that is the ancestral home of Yoruba people... and then claim that leadership to you is not about ethnicity. If you wish to serve all Nigerians, seek federal appointments in Abuja or open a charity.... Anyone who represents Isolo owes allegiance first and foremost to the natives of Isolo before any other people. Talks like this adds insult to injury.... You cannot claim to not see ethnicity in local politics..... The real insult is that no one will dare hold such office where you come from and say things like this.... Yorubaland is not a testing ground for one Nigeria....

Dear constituents and Nigerians, There have been deliberate attempts to spread false narratives suggesting that my aides are drawn from only one ethnic group and that I favour one ethnic bloc over others. I made it clear in my recent interview that these claims are completely untrue and do not reflect who I am, my values, or the way I have approached public service. Leadership, to me, is about competence, commitment, loyalty, and the capacity to deliver results for the people, not ethnicity, religion, or other divisive considerations. My team is made up of individuals from different backgrounds who have one thing in common: a shared commitment to serving our constituents effectively. I have never believed in politics of exclusion, and I will never reduce governance to ethnic calculations. At a time when our nation needs unity, development, and issue-based politics, it is unfortunate that some individuals still resort to divisive propaganda in an attempt to distract from the real work being done. I remain committed to representing every member of my constituency fairly and without bias. My mandate is to all our people, regardless of ethnic background, religion, or political leaning. Those who know my track record can attest that my focus has always been inclusive representation, people-centred policies, and creating opportunities that benefit everyone. We must reject narratives designed to divide us and instead embrace the values that truly move our communities and nation forward: unity, fairness, competence, and progress. Together, we will work for a new Nigeria

CANCEL THEM❌ Does the N.D.C not have Yoruba members, and if so, why do they consistently nominate non-indigenes, especially Ibo-nyamiri as candidates in Lagos? This is exactly where we YORÙBÁ people suppose to be wise up, because settlers from landlocked region are secretly cooking something behind, I've not seen a Yorùbá candidate from this particular political party called N.D.C. These non-indigenes have formed a political party that seeks to dominate the political landscape of Yorubaland, and therefore, Yoruba people should not vote for them because they are not coming to represent the interest of Yoruba land. Cancel them, they should go to their various state of origin and contest for whatever they wish to become. This is Yorùbá land✔️. Not yibo land❌.

As I formally declare my intention to seek re-election to continue serving the good people of Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II in 2027, I want to make one thing very clear: leadership must be built on competence, capacity, and results, not ethnicity. Too often, election conversations are reduced to questions of “whose turn it is.” But the more important question should always be: who can truly deliver for the people? Since assuming office, my focus has remained on purposeful representation, people-centered policies, and sustainable development across every part of our constituency. Through legislative interventions, motions, constituency projects, scholarships, empowerment initiatives, human capital development, and skills acquisition programmes, I have worked tirelessly to ensure that no ward is left behind and no community is ignored. From road rehabilitation projects to classroom construction, boreholes, transformer installations, youth empowerment programmes, and educational support initiatives, my commitment has always been to serve every resident of Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II regardless of background, tribe, or affiliation. Governance should never be about division. Development does not recognize ethnicity, and neither should quality representation. As I seek another opportunity to serve, my focus remains clear: - Expanding economic opportunities for our youths and SMEs - Increasing access to education, digital skills, and ICT training - Driving completion of critical infrastructure projects - Maintaining an open, inclusive, and accessible constituency office I believe representation should be measured by impact, accessibility, and results. I will continue to stand on my record and allow my work to speak for itself. I remain committed to issue-based politics, inclusive governance, and the continued progress of our constituency.

For years, I have remained committed to creating opportunities that empower the people of Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II beyond politics and election cycles. One of such impactful initiatives is the Talent Hunt Programme organised for residents of Oshodi-Isolo constituency II; a platform designed to discover, nurture, and showcase the incredible talents within our community, especially among our youth. This initiative was not just about entertainment; it was about giving young people a stage to dream bigger, believe in themselves, and see that their gifts can become meaningful careers and sources of livelihood. To further inspire participants, we were honoured to host renowned Nollywood icon, Kanayo O. Kanayo, who took time to mentor, admonish, and encourage the young talents present. His words of wisdom, discipline, and perseverance served as a strong reminder that success is built on consistency, hard work, and purpose. I strongly believe that when we invest in our youth, we invest in the future of our constituency. Our talents are our assets, and they deserve platforms that help them thrive. I remain committed to creating opportunities, building confidence, and empowering the next generation to succeed.

Dear Uche Nelson, Y-PA advise you to surrender now for your own Safety Lagos is a Yorubaland, we Yoruba are Conservative in nature and that's why you cant see any Yoruba living in igboland vying for a political post because we understand what it means to respect our host and boundaries, and not that we don't like politics. Therefore, you must replicate the same. You are in Lagos for business or whatever reason but absolutely not for politics because Lagos is not your land. Yoruba understands "Trade by Bata". You Do For Me, I Do For You Alliance. But in your case, you don't even allow someone from your neighbouring state to hold a position. You can't allow a Yoruba to be your State Governor. So why do you think we should allow you in Yorubaland? Yoruba Patriots Alliance (Y-PA) is advising you and many other non-yoruba to terminate any political ambition they might have in SouthWest for their own safety.

You are seeking for solicitors to speak on your behalf. With just few months to the election and the continuous campaign against your return, you are definitely not getting back to that office. Honorable Okey-Joe, you will be the last Ibo elect in Oshodi Isolo, the indigenous people you called the minority will vote you out so you can go back home and show the people of your state how committed you are to the development of your State.
Okey-Joe Onuakalusi@HOJ_Onuakalusi

Dear Constituents, I have always believed that true leadership is about service, sacrifice, and commitment to the people. My desire has consistently been to work towards the unity, progress, and development of Oshodi-IsoloConstituencyII. I remain dedicated to listening, understanding, and standing for the welfare of my people at all times. Together, we can continue to build a stronger and better Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II for everyone. Thank you for your trust, support, and belief in the vision we share. The journey continues, and with God on our side, greater things lie ahead.

A vote for Adeleke is a vote for Biafra. A Biafran apologist and ideologue is in the government of house of Osun state. This level of infiltration is just like the Mossad. We are playing to extinction in Yorubaland.

Let me address you: during the campaign of your principal, he said that Osun money and Osun jobs will not go outside of the state. Why did Mr.Governor now appointed IPOB apologist as aide? Also, why did Chinwe deleted all her pro-Biafra and Ipob tweets. Also, in future, if you become Governor, is this how you’ll importing our enemies to our dear State as harm us? Please address me.

No amount of tribal “RONU” politics or divisive tactics from some APC miscreants & their foreign merchants will change the reality of Osun 2026. The people have already decided & the reelection mandate of Gov Adeleke is settled. Ignore the noise, let’s move forward. Osun Adara❤️
