Today, I was pleased to meet with Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. We underscored the importance of the signing of a unified national budget on April 11 and the opening of the Libya spoke of Exercise Flintlock on April 14, with the participation of a joint force of east and west Libyan special forces. We discussed how to build on these economic and military integration steps, and how the United States can best support progress toward a unification of all Libyan institutions and national elections. The United States wishes to see a stable and unified Libya fully at peace and able to focus on increasing prosperity and economic opportunity for the Libyan people and their international partners.

BREAKING: The IRGC Navy is publicly calling Iran’s Foreign Minister Araghchi an "idiot" on international maritime Channel 16, broadcasting that the Strait of Hormuz "is still closed" and "we will open it by the order of our leader Imam Khamenei, not by the tweets of some idiot." He added "All vessels that have a connection with our enemies will be targeted if they try to pass."

According to two Channel 16 audio recordings captured today, two Indian vessels were forced back west out of the Strait of Hormuz by Iran's Sepah (IRGC) Navy. Firing was involved. One of the vessels is an Indian-flagged VLCC supertanker carrying 2 million barrels of Iraqi oil. Meanwhile, India is still importing Iranian oil. With friends like these..... #OOTT #Tankers #IranWar

Live vessel movement in the Strait of Hormuz, captured this morning (UTC) on the Windward Maritime AI™ Platform. What began as a cautious trickle yesterday is building into a steadier flow today. The first real sign that operators are testing the reopened corridor. More updates to follow as commercial transit resumes after nearly two months of conflict.

I spoke to PRX’s #TheWorld about the U.S.-backed joint military exercises in #Sirte: “Russia doesn’t really see the Trump administration as a big, scary enemy. If, inside Libya, Russian personnel need for purely cosmetic reasons to step away from certain assets to make room for the #Flintlock exercise, then it’s going to politely do that and then come back. As things stand right now, Russia is 𝒏𝒐𝒕 being pushed out of Libya.” theworld.org/segments/2026/…

Fuel smuggling helps maintain peace between Libya’s rival elites but drains the treasury. We argue how the EU and member states can curb the haemorrhaging of public funds and strengthen economic governance. crisisgroup.org/cmt/middle-eas…

The US appears to have fully withdrawn from #Syria, with last troops & equipment having left the final base at Qasrak in #Hasakeh over the past 24hrs — ending a ~10yr presence. Resources left overland through #Syria via #Jordan, to avoid threat of #Iran proxy attack in #Iraq.

The U.S. coaxed two rival Libyan factions into holding their first-ever joint military exercises. If all goes to plan, Western officials say, it would be the next step in squeezing Russia out from its biggest launchpad into Africa. on.wsj.com/4t9UWud

🇮🇹 Italy’s Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani is travelling to China (from April 16 to 18), with stops in Beijing and Shanghai, for a series of institutional meetings and economic and cultural initiatives. 🇨🇳 In Beijing, Tajani is set to meet Foreign Minister Wang Yi and co-chair, together with Commerce Minister Wang Wentao, the 16th Italy-China Joint Economic Commission, alongside a business dialogue involving Italian companies active in the Chinese market. 📋 Talks will focus on key international dossiers, from developments in the Middle East and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz — including Pakistan’s mediation efforts — to the war in Ukraine. 🐉 Minister Tajani will reiterate the expectation that Beijing plays a more active role in supporting a cessation of hostilities and the launch of credible negotiations.

Prima a me stesso, poi agli altri.
