The X-Men should be introduced to the MCU through Deadpool on a laptop clicking and dragging the X-men from a folder labeled “20th Century Fox” to a folder labeled “Marvel Studios”, and then we just act as if they’ve been there all along without any explanation or backstory.

@whymethough1221 @TheTsengMao @SuperButterBuns Also, if anything, it is the audience score that can often be disingenuous, as a lot of times, especially in the case of something that’s driven by an outside factor like a fandom like the recent Mario movie, people will intentionally leave reviews to lower or raise the score

@whymethough1221 @TheTsengMao @SuperButterBuns 1. Rotten Tomatoes does not pay critics, these critics have jobs at publications 2. The critics are not telling you what the general public will like, it is literally their personal opinion of the movie. 3. How is it disregarding audience scores if it includes it? 🤔

The Resident Evil fandom suddenly having a high adaptation standard is incredibly funny considering the previous films. Like here is a director with nothing but a good track record, but no, THIS one will be the worst for sure, they say

@SpecterM91 It’s funny because their understanding of a shift in medium is so one sided. They reserve the right to criticize the bad movie tie in games that used to (and sometimes still do) come out, but can’t understand why movie lovers to do the same when calling out bad video game movies

Funniest thing I've learned from the latest discourse is that there's a very large contingent of gamers who have this concept of "cinema fans" in their heads. You need to watch more movies, man. You're putting yourself in a walled garden for the dumbest, fan brained reasons ever.

@SuperButterBuns We thought Paul W.S. Anderson knew horror too. He made Event Horizon before he got the RE job

@RichardLNewby3 This is also a poor comparison because Fennell’s criticism is because she literally shifted away from some of the important themes of the book and cut large portions of the narrative.

Because Fennell’s film was an adaptation. This is a new story set in the world of Resident Evil. They aren’t the same thing. But it probably would’ve been more effective if Fennell set her film in the world of Wuthering Heights and populated it with new characters.
🇺🇸🎂joeycon🎂🇵🇸@seasalt_bae

Y’all lambasted Emerald Fennell for her shitty adaptation of Wuthering Heights for being a shitty adaptation but when video game fans want a good adaptation of their piece of fiction all of a sudden they’re slop obsessed and should just play the game if they care about it so much

I’ve come to realize one of my big disconnects with online fandom is that I like movies and they like being pat on the head and told what clever little boys they are for recognizing all the things

Also you could have leaned on the fact that it was going to be Raccoon City from the get go. Like how in the first Sonic movie trailer (the reboot version) had Sonic rolling around Green Hill Zone and doing iconic Sonic poses. Like dude 😅

@AlexVsPop @ViewerAnon It would bc you are a brainless consumer. They could slap a franchise name on a pile of shit and you would eat it like a starving man.

@AlexVsPop @ViewerAnon Sure. And you are the audience Hollywood has appealed to to put themselves in debt. The reality is that they can make you happy or make money and still make you happy. They should choose to make money.

@punishedhenryjr @ViewerAnon I want an adjacent story. I don’t want boring fan discourse about what the movie did and didn’t do right based on the game it adapted. That stuff is stupid, I want to talk to other people about a good movie because it’s a good movie.

@AlexVsPop @ViewerAnon No one wants an adjacent story. They want the story. Its arrogance to believe otherwise. That same arrogance has put every major studio in 10s of billions of dollars of debt.
