Saying that the Pistons, who have won a championship in this century, value “regular season games” and insinuating the Knicks — who have made the Finals twice in the last 52 years — know that the postseason is what matters is pretty hilarious
Alex B.@KnicksCentral

Knicks are back tonight at home vs. the 1 seed Detroit Pistons Will be a fun matchup and important one for the Knicks in standings if they have any dreams of catching the Pistons At the end of the day this means more to the Pistons than the Knicks, it’s Detroit’s Super Bowl as they have proved that regular season games mean everything to that fanbase and organization.

@McLeanGolf Played US Amateur in 2018. AT&T event does not play all the back tees surprisingly (Holes 9 & 10 examples). They also make small changes like shaving the rough right of 6 fairway. Conditions are main thing being soft. If Shinnecock is soft Tour players will tear it up

Questions: Is Pebble Beach now obsolete? I’m talking about for the modern PGA Tour player. All the par 5’s are simple for them. They hit wedge or SW to almost all the par 4’s. Pebble Beach is extended to the max. It’s my favorite all time course. I love it, but technology has made it too easy. Is it great for 99% of golfers. Absolutely yes! There’s no public golf course that compares to the magnificent golf holes at Pebble Beach. Next question: Wasn’t it better to have the amateurs and the celebrities playing on the weekend? I think this made this one tour event different and special. @GolfDigest @GOLF_com #golf

"No other competitive tour or league in OWGR history has been subjected to such a restriction." LIV Golf has released a statement on the OWGR's decision. The statement expresses disappointment about the top-10 rule, stating that it "disproportionately harms" players who consistently finish just outside that threshold. Full Statement The stated mission of the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) is to "administer and publish a transparent, credible, and accurate ranking based on the relative performances of players participating in male Eligible Golf Tours worldwide." We acknowledge this long-overdue moment of recognition, which affirms the fundamental principle that performance on the course should matter, regardless of where the competition takes place. However, this outcome is unprecedented. Under these rules, a player finishing 11th in a LIV Golf event is treated the same as a player finishing 57th. Limiting points to only the top 10 finishers disproportionately harms players who consistently perform at a high level but finish just outside that threshold, as well as emerging talent working to establish themselves on the world stage-precisely the players a fair and meritocratic ranking system is designed to recognize. No other competitive tour or league in OWGR history has been subjected to such a restriction. We expect this is merely a first step toward a structure that fully and fairly serves the players, the fans, and the future of the sport. We entered this process in good faith and will continue to advocate for a ranking system that reflects performance over affiliation. The game deserves transparency. The fans deserve credibility. And the players deserve a system that treats them equally.

@acaseofthegolf1 Kind of sick of golf being the “the ultimate meritocracy” Many safety nets for guys now. Tennis is a true meritocracy but 🤷🏼‍♂️

I don’t disagree in alot of respects. But the examples used: Clanton and Ludvig- Both got their cards via PGA Tour U. A program invented to keep college stars from going to LIV and skip the meritocracy that you speak of. I totally get why the Tour has PGA Tour U and all these guys are great talents and would have almost surely made it regardless. I also understand why LaSasso took the money. Yes he faces the challenges Joel said, but also is financially secure in a sport that rarely offers that.
Joel Beall@JoelMBeall

After striking out on stars, LIV pivoted to young players under the premise that the PGA Tour is too hard to crack. But Blades Brown (like Ludvig Aberg and Luke Clanton) is proving meritocracy still reins, making those LIV recruits look like they opted out of real competition

Petition to delete and remake the PGA Tour app? Still remains non-intuitive, can’t find any useful information and always buggy.

Pretty wild scenario playing out at the @BahamasKFTour (stick with me here) The Amex starts Thurs, and this weeks KFT event ends Wednesday. Currently Hayden Springer is 1st alternate for Amex and is going back and forth on what to do. He has flights booked out of here basically every day just in case. If he gets into the Amex before Sunday he will head there. However, if he's not in the Amex field by Sunday he will tee it up here. That won't eliminate him from playing Amex. But he doesn't think he can make it if he plays final round here Wednesday. Buttttt there are rumblings that Blades Brown, who is in this field and Amex getting a private jet to get him to Amex in time for Thursday tee time. So Springer could maybe hop on that flight. This all affects the alternates on site here. They are all wondering who is going to Amex and if they are getting in here.

December 14, 1991: Karl Malone of the Utah Jazz elbows Detroit's Isiah Thomas in the head, causing a wound that needed more than 40 stitches to close. Malone was ejected, fined $10,000 and suspended for one game. The Pistons' Darrell Walker was also ejected during the aftermath.
