@TheWapplehouse That makes sense. I think though that outside of that admittedly large bubble there's much less sympathy.

One year ago, Cory Booker spoke for over 25 hours, breaking the record for the longest speech in Senate history‼️ Here’s a breakdown of what it accomplished:

Norman Finkelstein: - Doesn't support BDS - Believes Israel has a right to exist - Believes chanting "From the River to the Sea" is offensive - Doesn't think Israel forced America to bomb Iran - Doesn't think Israel killed JFK - Emails Jeffrey Epstein - Defends Noam Chomsky This is the "based Jew" people have been telling me about for the last 2 years.
Michael Tracey@mtracey

Norman Finkelstein denounces the new Israel Derangement Syndrome, says Joe Kent and MAGA pundits have gone "completely lunatic" -- spreading ridiculous theories like Israel killed JFK, duped Cheney and Rumsfeld into invading Iraq, and have now tricked Trump into attacking Iran

@jacobin Does Arrogant Abdul support abolishing private insurance or not today? Arrogant Abdul doesn't even know his own healthcare plan.

Mallory McMorrow, who is running against Medicare for All champion Abdul El-Sayed for US Senate, recently went viral presenting herself as a populist crusader against surveillance pricing. Her record as a Michigan state legislator tells a different story. jacobin.com/2026/04/mcmorr…

“Hasan Piker, in a recent interview, called Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA), ‘my dark-horse pick, depending on how he presents himself if he has ambitions for higher office.’ But does Ossoff, a Jewish senator who is facing a tough reelection in a state President Donald Trump carried twice, return Piker’s affections? His team has been unresponsive about his views on Piker, even as some leading Democrats have spoken out against the influencer and kept their distance. Multiple spokespeople for Ossoff didn’t respond to several inquiries this week from JI”

Lots of negative replies to this but there are a lot of places in the country where this is almost possible. 400/mo for food is doable, the 330/mo for transportation is also doable if you buy a used car in the <15k range and have a clean record for insurance. Those two are probably the most difficult to maintain in that range but not impossible. You literally just have to not spend money on any non-essentials. Rent is just location based, 1600 is probably a more realistic figure. But it’s all deferral of gratification. Which I didn’t do in my 20’s and wish I did.

Here's the math: A single person earning $70,000/yr takes home ~$4,500/mo after tax. A realistic budget: -$1,200/mo: Rent -$400/mo: Food - $330/mo: Transportation - $280/mo Utilities/phone - $500/mo: Fun ...Living within their means lets them invest ~$1,600/mo.

Yeah then there is - dentist - doctor visit + regular bloodwork etc - toiletries (toothpaste, shampoo, toilet paper, wet wipes if you don’t enjoy a raw asshole) - casual and/or work clothes - emergency fund - retirement - car repairs, fuel, maintenance - internet The list goes on and on, at the end of the month you’d be realistically upside down with that budget

ALTERNATIVE 3 (1977): Anglia's brilliant April Fool drama about a conspiracy amongst elites to flee a dying Earth for the safety of Mars, leaving us proles in the dust. It spawned a loopy conspiracy theory, still propogated on American websites. Don't go down that rabbit hole...

I asked Claude AI to compare the Hasan Piker audience to the cringe wine moms at MSNOW. "[O]n a normal night, MS NOW's primetime audience of roughly 900,000 is about 25 times larger than Piker's typical concurrent stream of 36,000."
