Dutch parliament votes to ban the Muslim Brotherhood — an organization jews have warned about for years. Apparently some things only become a problem once they’re no longer someone else’s.

So being attacked by Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis — all backed and armed by Iran — isn’t enough? Combined with a regime that openly calls for our destruction and has built its entire military strategy around it? And was close to being able to carry it out? But yes, clearly — no reason at all.

Timely meeting with @antonioguterres. Repercussions of the war in the Middle East are global, and it is our responsibility to work for de-escalation and a diplomatic solution. The EU and its Member States are the largest contributor to the @UN. We are strongly committed to upholding international law and building a world where multilateral cooperation prevails.

@vonderleyen @antonioguterres @UN @patrickOwrites By ‘started it,’ you mean existing? That narrative is centuries old. It’s hard to respect something that only seems to matter when Israel can be blamed — not when it’s being violated against it.

“Committed to international law.” Except when Israel is attacked from multiple fronts.

This is a “poor Palestinian political prisoner.” She wasn’t imprisoned for speaking up. Or for protesting. She was imprisoned for gaining a 16-year-old boy’s trust, luring him in, driving him to his killers, and watching him being executed. That’s not politics. That’s murder.
Rabbi Poupko@RabbiPoupko

When they speak of "Palestinian political prisoners in Israel", they are speaking about people like Amana Jawad Mona. Mona Awana, a Palestinian woman from Ramallah watched the blood thirsty Palestinian mob lynch Vadim Norzhich and Yossi Avrahami in Ramallah on October 12th, 2000. Awana watched fellow Palestinians raise hands filled with fresh blood of two innocent Jewish men and decided she wanted more of that. Awana started going online in to chat rooms, trying to lure other Israelis to come to Ramallah. She was 24 at the time and contacted a 16-year-old Israeli boy named Ofir Rahum, a high school student at the time. After months of speaking to Rahum online, she managed to convince this innocent 16-year-old boy that she was a Jewish immigrant from Morocco named Sally. Awana convinced him to meet her and Jerusalem and after he got into her car she kidnapped him. Awana drove Rahum into Palestinian-controlled territory to the outskirts of Ramallah where Palestinian Fatah terrorists shot him at close range as she stood by and watched with glee. She was released in 2009 under the Shalit deal and is just another example of who the pro-palestinian student groups on campus refer to as "a political prisoner" or "a hostage", when they are in fact murderous monsters serving time in Israeli prison for the unspeakable crimes they have committed.

@arabnews Lebanon should have disarmed Hezbollah since 2006. It didn’t. UN Resolution 1701 required it. Lebanon didn't enforced. So an Iranian proxy built an army on Israel’s border. And now everyone acts surprised and all of a sudden blame Israel for Lebanon's failure all those years.

It would be unreasonable to expect Lebanon's government to disarm Iran-backed Hezbollah while the country is being bombed by Israel, France's special envoy for Lebanon said on Wednesday, adding that only a negotiation would resolve the crisis.

The French Paradox: It's Impossible to Find a Convenient Period for Disarming 'Hezbollah' France's Special Envoy to Lebanon, Jean-Yves Le Drian, called for an end to the war, stating that the Lebanese government cannot disarm 'Hezbollah' under bombings. But a simple question arises: when, in Paris's opinion, was this ever possible at all? UN Security Council Resolution No. 1701 explicitly demanded the disarmament of 'Hezbollah' and its withdrawal behind the Litani River. Years of relative calm passed. No war, no 'shower of bombings'. And what did the French, who traditionally play a key role in Lebanon, do? Nothing. Today, we are told: 'now is not the time'. But then it's logical to ask - when was there time? During the period of calm - it didn't work out. During the war - 'it's impossible'. So, in reality, it's not about finding conditions, but about constantly justifying inaction. The argument that Israel failed to disarm 'Hezbollah' also sounds like a substitution of concepts. Israel was not supposed to do this - it's the responsibility of the Lebanese state, with the support of the international community. That's precisely why UN resolutions were adopted. Against this backdrop, Paris's statements about the 'unavailability of alternatives to negotiations' seem more like an attempt to freeze the situation than to solve the problem. Because without eliminating 'Hezbollah's' military infrastructure itself, any 'peace' will only be a pause before the next escalation. A familiar picture is emerging: there's diplomatic activity, there's loud statements - but there's still no political will to bring the situation to the real disarmament of 'Hezbollah'.

French envoy says Lebanon cannot disarm Hezbollah under Israeli bombardment —— It is unrealistic to expect the Lebanese government to disarm Hezbollah while the country remains under Israeli bombardment, France’s special envoy to Lebanon said on Wednesday. "Israel occupied Lebanon for a very long time and failed to eradicate Hezbollah's military capacity. Therefore, they cannot now ask the Lebanese government to do that job in three days under bombardment," Jean-Yves Le Drian said in an interview with France Info. "There is a process of negotiation and discussion that is possible, but all the parties must want it," he added.
