I've been thinking about this a lot. I think 'employment' probably goes down but entreprenuership goes up. Think about how many businesses there will be when anyone can build an app. Where generalists reign supreme? Lots of 1-5 person companies. Prediction: Jobs (with companies) down. Small businesses way up. Overall a benefit.

i have one very big question about the future that i do not know the answer to: will AI actually drive the unemployment rate way up, or will it create more jobs than it destroys like prior disruptions? in other words, is it different this time, or not?

[New Post] A few thoughts on conviction. Almost all great things in our lives come on the other side of true conviction. So, I wanted to learn more about why that is, and how to do it right. hope you enjoy it. i learned a lot tylerhogge.com/2025/12/11/a-f…

Here's my ultimate @tesla experience. Stuck 20 min away at night with my 15-yr-old (permit only) daughter. The challenge? Two cars, one driver. Do I let her drive the Rivian alone on the freeway… or trust FSD in the brand new X? What do I trust more to get my daughter home safely? FSD won. She didn’t touch the wheel once. I followed behind on speaker while she screamed “THIS IS THE FUTURE!!!” the whole way home 😂 Rivian’s getting sold tomorrow. Welcome back to @Tesla @elonmusk

in venture, the nemesis - the main competitor - the ghost we are chasing - isn't other venture funds. its QQQ if we can't beat it handily (because of liquidity!), we don't deserve to exist. daunting.

@teddyferrin Ted speaks the truth here. It's on Saturdays which is why most people think it doesn't even exist.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Cubby’s breakfast (Saturdays only) is criminally underrated, as measured by nobody ever being there. So. Delicious. The BS and Brioche French Toast are perfect.

@BrockHuard This is what it does to the fan base... kids that once looked up to DK will now be the total opposite.

Other than the Kid (kinda twice) that forced his way out of SEA, have there been many meaningful redemption stories who force their way out of town? Maybe Kemp? Just don’t know how this plays out well for DK. Plenty of stories like ARod and Galloway on the other side

@thogge Megan can't stand the screaming from Pardon the Interruption. I can't stand the dry banter of Gilmore Girls. It's a thing we bond over. :)

Every fall my wife watches a show called Gilmore Girls but she can’t tell me why. It’s not funny. It’s not exciting. It’s not scary. They just talk. Never laugh. No plot. Bizarre.

@SheaSerrano Just watched the full game. He had multiple chances to block the pawn but just didn’t think it was a threat. The marching pawn is super powerful. Well done.

@thogge This is an unfortunate truth because I wish it wasn't 100% true. In theory, it would be great to be easy, kind, patient, and work remotely. But in practice, most, if not ALL, founders of massive companies are intense and aggressive. It's what drives something huge from nothing.

You might be able to build a massively successful startup without leaders that are ultra, ultra aggressive… I just haven’t seen an example of it, that’s all.

In a long convo with @sterlingmsnow today I concluded that the most important trait for startup success is intensity. Not intelligence. Not charisma. Intensity. As mr. buffett says: “Intensity is the price of excellence.”
