Hey everyone I've got a bit of an announcement to make. Today, Friday 7/17, will be my last day at Bungie and I'll be passing the torch of Game Director to the very capable and amazing hands of Del Chafe III, who will guide the game forward alongside the Creative Director Julia Nardin. Both of them have been operating in a strong leadership capacity for the team and are ready to guide Marathon into the next chapter with an even better and brighter future. I'm proud of them and I'm excited to see them helm the future of this crazy little world we've created together. As for me, I'll be heading to something new, somewhere else, and will update you on where and what soon. I just want to say a deeply heartfelt thank you to all of you for supporting me and Marathon in our windy mission to bring a dark and terrifying space survival frontier to your screen. The mission will continue in new and surprising ways so stay tuned for what this team has in store for you! It's been a pleasure seeing all the stories you've created, all the clever ways you've found ways to murder robots and one another. @aredcircle2 @Ziegler_Dev You know its a common thing for game directors to move on to other things when they release a product right? Like VERY common. Let's take Tekken8 for example, or Hell Divers 2, or FF14 which has had plenty of game directors.

Bungie has canceled two GDC 2026 panels focused on Marathon: one on high-performance networking for gameplay movement and shooting, and another on scaling automated testing from Destiny to support Marathon as a live-service title. No official reason given yet

You wanna know how this ruins the franchise it’s simple and I’ve said this to you more than 3 times now. This adaptation only serves to shit on the fans of the games while also confusing newer people who want to get into the games. This anime is more obsessed with pushing politics down people throats rather than making something enjoyable to watch which is not what DMC has ever been. Granted the remake might’ve done it but that’s why the game never went down that path. The show butchers Lady in such a way it’s depressing and makes me hate Lady a character I love in the games but now she’s just a generic government agent who curses like a child . Dante is an inconsistent powerhouse who can tank shot gun shots but is taken down by taser and he just serves as a government pawn. Any depth the characters had, any emotional connection is gone. The only thing that was enjoyable was the bunny but that’s because he was actual character. How is anyone new supposed to get invested in wanting to play the game when their in-game counterparts are so vastly different. The characters in the DMC anime aren’t DMC Character. You act as if I’m spouting nonsense yet you have yet to show me any point otherwise. You’re two main points where 1. Netflix approved to for a second season. Netflix also approved of the show cuties and many other bad movies and shows. 2. Well game of thrones was bad in the later seasons. Doesn’t that prove that isolating a fan base and ruining the source material and pushing away your core and newer fan base for a message that wasn’t there in the first place. I wouldve liked for some new and amazing changes but the anime doesn't do that at all and if they did please tell me what those amazing changes are. I will say it again THIS IS NOT DMC. This is a image of DMC from a person who has no idea what he's doing. He's ruling DMC by changing the characters who he promised he wouldn't change into unlikable version of themselves.

I’m gonna respond to this first because it is easily the stupidest fucking thing I have ever heard….DMC is not game of thrones or even remotely close to game of thrones. Just because game of thrones later seasons were horrible does not make the fact that DMC is bad ok. If anything this proves that completely ignoring the source material and fucking over the fans that enjoy the franchise for what it is will result in hate towards that adaptation. Now am I saying that change is bad no but, the changes he made make no fucking sense. Why does lady work for government, curse like a 5 year old for reason, and has no willingness to avenge her mother who knows. Why is politics is DMC when there has never been political who knows. Why tf does the DMC anime refuse be even remotely good and ruins the characters/story that made it good in the first place well, according to you because game of thrones was bad so that makes it somehow justified.

The games haven't been watched with this story, the creators of this aren't lying to people saying its canon, they aren't pulling an Arcane and making it canon... so how does it "ruin" dmc?

@Hitendr08989165 @IGN Because DBE was not competently made in any way. The cinematography sucked, the acting was *ok* at best, the vfx sucked etc. This is at least decently put together.

@IGN It's really funny that some people are saying that the show is not canon and is a different take on DMC. Let me ask you something, Dragon Ball Evolution was also a different take on and changed the fundamentals of the universe. Netflix's DMC is basically that, how is that good?
