Until they establish a constructive bidirectional feedback loop with fans, they will continue hurting the franchise.

I don’t wanna speak for anyone, but my guess is what he/she’s trying to say is that, the consensus among the vast majority of long-time Star Trek fans (“classic Trek fans”) is that it’s so terrible that they don’t even accept nu-Trek storytelling as a legitimate part of Trek canon. They may not always express themselves with the sort of tact or respect that they ought to (I’m guilty of this at times, as well) but I do believe it comes from a place of love of and passion for Star Trek as a franchise that’s deeply meaningful to them. And they probably assume (and understandably so) that if someone’s being given access to screeners of a show like this, that there’s an implied understanding that they’ll cover the show with kid gloves at best, or undeserved fawning praise, at worst. Because in their eyes, if @StarTrekOnPPlus is going around copyright-striking channels like Trek Central, who aren’t exactly holding @paramountplus’ feet to the intellectual honesty fire, then what exactly are they asking (or requiring) of folks whom they entrust with advanced screeners of episodes? It’s an eminently reasonable question, even if the delivery of it left a lot to be desired. All in all, I believe that a very clear majority of Star Trek fans have decided after watching the first half of the season that the only “Star Trek fans” who could possibly think that this show is anything other than a thinly-veiled slap in the face to the very soul of Star Trek are those people who are being paid or otherwise incentivized to either speak well of it, or even just not speak as negatively about SA as the show merits. I really do wish people could stick to attacking the worthiness of the show itself: the storylines written, the character development (or lack thereof) the direction, the production and the content of the show - rather than the people who have loved Star Trek for years and even decades. Maybe as Trekkies we ought to commit ourselves to remembering the spirit of the franchise that Roddenberry created for us all. K, I’ll shut up now 😋🖖🏼
