There are a few ways to remove aerosols. Ventilation & air filtration are good ways. However, the favoured way by Public Health appears to be just to delete them. Compare what this page said when crawled in Dec 2025 to what it says today. 7th Dec 2025 pictured. 1/🧵

✈️ Ever wondered why people get sick after flying? Outdoor air has about 450 ppm CO₂. On this flight it peaked at 5000 ppm roughly 10% of every breath you take is someone else’s exhaled air. No wonder so many people get ill after flights #CO2 #AirQuality #Aranet4 #FlightHealth

It worries me to see these students & the healthcare workers administering the MenB vaccine wearing surgical masks, instead of FFP masks. Surgical masks are better than nothing, but if there’s a possibility of AIRBORNE transmission, then they really should be given FFP masks.
Department of Health and Social Care@DHSCgovuk

Our targeted vaccination programme is underway in response to the meningitis outbreak in Kent. Eligible students will have received an invite. Hear from those who took up the offer straight away 👇 More info on the outbreak: ukhsa.blog.gov.uk/2026/03/18/men…

Known from day one of the pandemic: surgical masks are not PPE. The thing that affected so many of us was trying to comprehend the bone-headed stupidity, the belligerent murderousness, which kept pushing them as suitable PPE. It has completely changed the way we now look at the world, and not for the better.

Hot off the press, here’s the relevant extract in today’s Covid Inquiry report about the protection from different masks: 😷 Surgical masks: Designed to protect others but do NOT protect the wearer. 😷 FFP masks: Fit closely to the face & protect from both droplets & aerosols.

One positive from the pandemic was how people came together on twitter to use science to try and counter the “bone-headed stupidity, the belligerent murderousness” and the paternalistic arrogance shown by the many in positions of influence and leadership.

Why everyone should be very careful with digital IDs and total digital surveillance fantasies – it already serves in its early stages as a tool for labeling, suppressing free criticism, and is misused to manipulate public perception. Keep your eyes peeled! 👀

The lifestyle of many in metropolitan areas and conurbations takes its tribal toll... living with harmful pathogens without adequate prevention makes them vulnerable 🐸🔥
Hiroshi Yasuda (保田浩志)@Yash25571056

"Meningococcal disease is not an unfamiliar threat.. [However,] Its clinical trajectory remains as aggressive as ever, progressing rapidly from mild, non-specific symptoms to severe sepsis or meningitis within hours. Even in high-income countries, around one in ten cases is fatal. Amongst those who survive, a significant proportion will live with permanent consequences, including neurological damage, hearing loss, or limb amputations.. What is changing is not the pathogen, but the context in which it spreads.. [This is] a shift that reflects gaps in vaccination strategies rather than biological evolution.. [In such a patchwork of immunity,] pathogens are able to exploit with remarkable efficiency.. The persistence of meningococcal disease reflects a deeper structural issue.. [During the COVID-19 pandemic,] the public was exposed to contradictory messages, rapidly changing recommendations, and visible disagreements between experts. What emerged from that period was not only fatigue, but a measurable erosion of trust.. When trust weakens, uptake follows. Even well-established and highly effective vaccines become subject to hesitation. Science, in this context, loses its ability to translate knowledge into protection." Convincing. Early official COVID-19 death tolls may have been undercounted by 19%. The findings indicate that the US system reported COVID-19 deaths inequitably, which hid the true extent of pandemic mortality and disparities. Read more: ow.ly/4cUT50YwvKs
