In fact, in our Westminster system, the only places I could find mass defections and inducements that changed the balance of power were in East Africa - Malawi, Kenya. Kenya now has strict anti defection laws to prevent such abuses of power. Every other example in mature democracies - UK, Australia, NZ and Canada (before Carney) were either through a single independent crosser (not mass inducement), Speakership or coalitions and accords. In the latter three instances they were all carried out transparently and in the House. Every thinking person in Canada should really have a good look at what this means. Holding the crossers as trophies or traitors is actually beside the point. What is at stake is much bigger than them. It is the autocracy that Carney is creating and its acceptance by media, sycophants and pacifists.
Lisa MacLeod@MacLeodLisa

Even Donald Trump, whose disregard for institutions is well known, has never been able to seize absolute power without electoral consent like Mark Carney has.

@MacLeodLisa The fact that so many conservatives are unwilling to lay any of these crossings at the feet of a feckless leader says boatloads more about the whiners Very little outrage is coming from the effected constituents but tons from the ‘usual suspect’ conservative SM gadflies

@irbrodie Question: can parliament actually pass a law requiring an MP to resign and run in a by-election to sit with another party? Seems like it would violate a member's freedom.

That might be the immediate reaction. But I recall one high-profile floor crossing in 2005 that, more than anything else, persuaded an opposition caucus to bear down, work their @$$es off, and beat the government. Which they did.
Charestiste🇨🇦🍁@RealAlbanianPat

If 9 more MPs cross the floor to the Liberals, the old democratic system will effectively end in this country, both the left and right will become radicalized; even many Liberals will become disillusioned, separatist sentiments will rise, and many people will never vote again.

@nenshi Do you not know how to read? Alberta separation for independence! 💙🏔️🌾🦬⛽️ NOT 51st state This is a grassroots movement with momentum growing from more Albertans waking up to the catastrophic actions of the liberal government.

I’m ready to fight like hell for this country, and against anyone trying to tear it apart. The richest man in the world wants Canada to become the 51st state and is now amplifying Alberta separatism. So let’s ask the question: Who is funding this movement? Albertans deserve to know.

I JUST SUED THE TORONTO STAR FOR FAILING TO PUBLICLY REVEAL INFORMATION SHARED BY THE RCMP RE: JUSTIN TRUDEAU AND UNDERAGE PORN After much reflection, I finally decided to begin my litigation process related to events arising from the experiences I wrote about in 'In Trudeau's Kitchen'. I'm not even talking about the more specific details/consequences I shared in 'In Trudeau's Kitchen.' (i.e. how the Star may have been negligent with respect to not telling my story). Those will be explored soon. I'm talking about the bigger picture consequences of media not sharing important details about political leadership with the citizenry. Oh, how we suffer in their absence. In this case, I begin with something shared with me (2021)  by then Toronto Star Journalist Robert Cribb, to the effect that the RCMP had informed them that then Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was watching kiddie porn (underage porn) on his devices. It was their job to witness him, in order to ensure his devices weren't compromised by a foreign power. When asked (2022) if this story was going to go public, Cribb confirmed that the original source was credible, and affirmed that the story was coming ('where there's smoke, there's fire.'). It never came, and I believe it should have. I have struggled with this, and various other things shared with me by media, for a long time. At the link below is the filing itself, for anyone interested in following the story. It is for the court to decide, but it is my view that the Star, particularly in a situation where they are receiving funds from the government, had a fiduciary duty to bring this information to the Canadian public. It is surely in the public interest, and sharing it may well have made a huge difference with respect to cultivating the best outcome for Canadians. I explain more of my view in the documents. @dkennedyglans @MelanieBennet_ @TheMenzoid @ezralevant @scoopercooper @CandiceMalcolm @DavidKrayden @RealAndyLeeShow @LichTamara @JaneBrownNews @AlexpiersonAMP @cbcwatcher dropbox.com/scl/fi/2bywhzf…

@TLNewmanMTL Someone who works for a partisan media outlet is going to debunk partisan narratives - all of them or just the ones your outlet disagrees with?

What have any of the 4 people Trump destroyed in his tweet ever done for this country? None have ever served in the military or served anywhere. They all got filthy, stinking rich by complaining about people who actually do something. That's it. That's all they do. They cry, whine, and rage from the safety of their mansions while real men and women put their lives on the line every day; whether it's the military, police officers, fire fighters, etc. - And give me a break thinking they could do what President Trump does. lol. They wouldn't last 5 minutes. They take and take, give nothing back, and count their millions. And that my friends, is the definition of a grifter.

@DayPrsnt @eyesoncanada I didn’t you mean you, hon - meant the clown I was responding to (see the handles are in different order depending on who you’re answering 😉) Not defending Liberals here just slagging PP 😂 - but you can’t seem to discern that nuance

@DayPrsnt @ChantalHbert @RobertFife You make the classic SM assumption that disliking one person means you have to love their ‘opponent’ - the inability to think beyond that polar opposite binary is quite telling
