It was a great pleasure to join the Canada Day celebrations at Mel Lastman Square and celebrate with our vibrant Willowdale community.

Today, Canada’s Chief Trade Negotiator and I met with our American and Mexican counterparts to undertake the Joint Review of the CUSMA.   I reaffirmed Canada’s unwavering support for the CUSMA and its renewal. A great day to celebrate the opening of the new Canadian Consulate office in Phoenix! It was an honor to join @GovernorHobbs, Ambassador @MarkDWiseman, Consul General @Sylvie_Bedard & Parliamentary Secretary @AliEhsassi to continue strengthening Arizona’s partnership with Canada.

Great to join a panel of trade experts and business leaders at the inaugural TradeTO Trade Diversification Summit. With trade diversification becoming key to building a stronger and more resilient economy, opportunities to explore new markets, strengthen global partnerships, and support Canadian SMEs abound.

Great to attend the Energy Council meetings in Regina and to be reminded by all the participants from across North America of the integrated nature of our energy sectors and the extent to which such integration remains a strategic priority.

Thoroughly enjoyed my meeting with Saskatchewan’s Minister of Trade and Export Development, the Honourable Warren Kaeding, who shared with me details of his province’s ambitious economic initiatives and energy projects.

Wonderful to join the annual Taste of North York at Mel Lastman Square and enjoy a vibrant showcase of food, culture, and community spirit. A special thank you to NeighbourLink North York for organizing the event, and to the many volunteers, community organizations, and local partners whose dedication made the celebration possible.

It was wonderful to walk today with Toronto’s vibrant Jewish community. At a time when our neighbours and friends face rising hatred and intimidation, it is imperative to come together and stand firmly against antisemitism.

Despite weathering an onslaught of U.S. tariffs and the global economic headwinds of conflict in the Middle East, am excited to report that employment numbers for May are reported to be up by 87,800 jobs, and that unemployment is down to 6.6%
