Canada just ranked #1 for infrastructure investment attractiveness, surpassing the US and all of Europe.
This isn't an accident – it's the result of a year of laser-focused policy changes, including:
✅Standing up the Major Projects Office to fast-track projects of national interest
✅ Implementing “One project, one review" — a streamlined federal-provincial process to get projects to yes via a single review, rather than duplicative layers of approval
✅ And a deliberate push to double non-U.S. exports, putting new trade corridors and the expansion of existing ones at the centre of our economic agenda
The results are in: Canada is now seen as the most politically stable and predictable environment for infrastructure investment in the world - and private capital is taking notice!

It was a pleasure to visit the newly opened flagship location of Galleria Supermarket.
Since opening its first Canadian store in 2003, Galleria has helped bring Korean products and culture to communities across the Greater Toronto Area, while continuing to grow and contribute to our vibrant multicultural economy.

Excited to join officials for breaking ground ceremony at Pearson International Airport for the launch of one of the largest airport infrastructure programs ever undertaken in Canada.
New construction will transform airfield lighting systems at Pearson, as well as inaugurate a system-wide baggage restoration and performance upgrades.
These initiatives will strengthen connectivity, support economic growth, and enhance the travel experience of countless Canadians.

Last night, three people were fired upon with a replica firearm outside Chasidei Bobov synagogue in North York in an abhorrent act of antisemitism, leaving one person injured.
I am relieved to hear that an arrest has been made. Law enforcement agencies have my full support as they investigate, and as they work to bring justice for the victims and the wider Jewish community.
Last year, we introduced new legislation to the strengthen the criminal code, combat hate, and protect our communities — and we remain absolute in Canada’s commitment to combatting the scourge of antisemitism and hate in all of its forms.
Together, we will continue to build a country where all Jewish Canadians can live openly, freely, and safely.

Great pleasure to engage in conversation on the current situation in the Middle East with two Canadian icons: Professor Janice Stein, Founding Director of the Munk School of Global Affairs & journalist and author, Steve Paikin of the World on Edge podcast.

Great to see PM @MarkJCarney appointing Louise Arbour, a global human rights leader and distinguished former judge, to be the new Governor General of Canada. It's a public reminder that Canada still holds high the banner of human rights. nytimes.com/2026/05/05/wor…

I am very pleased to announce that, on my recommendation, His Majesty has approved the appointment of the Honourable Louise Arbour as the 31st Governor General of Canada. Across more than five decades, she gave voice to those whose dignity was denied, held institutions to account, and changed lives through her service.
As Canada’s next Governor General, Louise Arbour will represent the best of Canada to our citizens and to the world — a Canada clear-eyed about the challenges we face, and steadfast in the values we uphold.

Keeping Canada safe is a shared priority.
Last week, alongside Minister Anandasangaree and Secretary of State Sahota, I joined the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police to discuss Bill C-22 and its importance in giving police the tools they need to investigate increasingly complex crimes.
We are hearing directly from police chiefs across Canada on how this legislation will support safer communities while keeping Canadians protected.

Today, I chaired the first meeting of the new Advisory Committee on Canada-U.S. Economic Relations.
We discussed Canada’s priorities in upcoming the joint review of the CUSMA, and the importance of maintaining a strong, stable, and mutually beneficial economic partnership between Canada and the United States.
Bringing together diverse expertise, the committee will ensure Canada engages with the United States in a unified way – because Canada is strongest when we work together.

On Earth Day, we’re reminded that Canada’s natural beauty is something to cherish and protect. That’s why our government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Mark Carney, has launched A Force of Nature: Canada’s Strategy to Protect Nature. Backed by a $3.8 billion investment, this plan will protect and restore critical habitats, align industrial growth with conservation, and mobilise new capital to safeguard Canada’s natural heritage for generations to come.
