Chantal Hébert on Pierre Poilievre not going to Washington: "It's hard to get meetings in Washington with top people when you're from Canada and you're in opposition. It's easier to get them when you're 20 points ahead. It's really hard to get them when you're 15 points behind."

Dear Sir; We all want to ensure that elements of the regime do not arrive in Canada. Yet this is not the responsible manner of approaching such issues. It is counterproductive, and does no member of the community any credit, or effective good, to engage in vigilantism. If you have any reliable information as to this individual’s title and occupation back in Iran, please do sent it to me.

Exactly one day after the parliamentary session in which @liberal_party and @Safety_Canada claimed that IR regime affiliates and IRGC thugs are under their radar, another regime-linked official reportedly appeared at Toronto airport. Why does this keep happening? According to statements by @MelissaLantsman and @MichelleRempel, the Liberal gov has chosen to punish conscripts instead of focusing on senior regime officials. The conscripts that not only had no ties to the regime, but sought a better life in Canada, far from the brutality of the Islamic Republic. How long will this pretense continue? How long will this double standard remain in place? As a member of the Unheard Conscripts Advocacy Network (UCAN), and based on solid documentation, we can confirm that many of the rejected visas and permits the gov points to were related to conscripts, not actual regime affiliates. We hope @CPC_HQ and its respected members will continue pushing for a concrete solution to end this misleading process and bring the purpose of IRGC designation back to its intended goal. As the UCAN team, we are also pleased to collaborate constructively in this effort. I’like to express my appreciation to @MelissaLantsman, @MichelleRempel, and @ShuvMajumdar for correctly recognizing the conscription issue. I also urge the Liberals to end this unfair approach, work across party lines with the Conservatives, and focus on removing IR regime operatives from Canada🇨🇦 x.com/irgcconscripts…

Lantsman and Rempel on getting the Iranian regime officials out of Canada Lantsman "If the number isn't 700, then the Minister ought to tell Canadians and we need to know, all Canadians need to know what that number is." "And we know the most important number is that they have expelled only one. So we're calling on the Minister to actually get to work." Rempel-Garner "He argued that he shouldn't be removed from Canada because he wasn't enough of a senior official." "...We're not talking about somebody who was conscripted into the IRGC sort of against their will." "We're talking about people who were active and willing participants and profited off of the regime's activities at a senior level, human rights abusers that have no legal reason to be in the country." @MelissaLantsman @MichelleRempel @LenaMetlegeDiab

Mr @MarkJCarney @CitImmCanFR Please inform us: with what type of visa are these regime thugs able to come to Canada, while our beloved family members and friends cannot even obtain a tourist visa to visit us? We are now hearing that senior regime figures are fleeing — and Canada is their destination. This is deeply concerning. #IranRevolution2026

The European Parliament has passed, by a large majority, a resolution calling for a stronger EU‑Canada partnership, especially on security, defense and faster CETA adoption. Canada has always stood by us in our hardest moments. The bond between Canada and Europe is wonderful.

My friend, you know that regrettably these cases are legally complex. Nonetheless, I am willing to work with you, to see how we can hasten these cases. That said, it’s time for everyone to get off their high horses and do more. You will recall that Iran’s former central banker, Mahmoud Reza Khavari, arrived in Canada in 2011, with his ill gotten hundred of millions, and the then Conservative Government and its then Minister of Immigration did exactly zero. Oh, allow me to also remind you that this same corrupt high-ranking official, Khavari, received his Canadian passport in 2005, when the Conservative government was also in power. It’s time we all rolled up our sleeves and did much better, rather than engage in small minded partisan attacks that achieved nothing but cynicism.

The Liberals can take action against the Iranian regime today, at home, within our own borders. They can deport regime officials. But they're hiding their identities and letting them claim asylum instead.

Today, I met with United States Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer in Washington, D.C. During our meeting, I had the opportunity to introduce Canada’s new Chief Trade Negotiator to the United States, the Honourable Janice Charette, and Canada’s newly appointed Ambassador to the United States, Mark Wiseman. We had a constructive and substantive discussion pertaining to the Canada-United States–Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) Joint Review process, and on broader bilateral trade issues. Ambassador Greer and I agreed to continue to work together on these trade issues, and we will speak again in the coming days to further our discussions.
