@enfield_labour local election campaign revolves around fly-tipping and bin collection. Not a single word about strategies to produce less rubbish in general or how social care will look like in the year ahead! Labour is stale and can’t produce policies anymore.

I have been to Hatay many times. I spent months of my life there. You hear Turkish, Arabic, and a mix of both every day. Occasionally, very rarely, you hear Armenian. I have never heard Kurdish.
Locals will tell you there were no Kurds at all until recent immigration, but frankly you’ll meet more Afghans – there has been a small Afghan village near Antioch since the early 80s – than Kurds. Maps of Kurdistan that include Hatay are a topic of conversation in Hatay; people laugh and wonder if the rest of the map is equally (in)accurate.
