But the real story is not the numbers, it’s the lives rebuilt. In Benin City, I witnessed this firsthand through stories like Success, who rebuilt her life from running a small cosmetic shop to becoming a landlady. Reintegration changes lives, and many still need this support.

This week, we reached 60,000 returns since the launch of IOM’s Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration Programme in Nigeria in 2017, supported by @EUinNigeria.

As we kick off the #16DaysOfActivism, I’m reminded why this work matters. In Uromi, we opened a Sexual Assault Referral Centre, a safe space for survivors to heal and rebuild. Ending gender-based violence isn’t just policy, it’s about dignity and hope. #EndGBV #IOMNigeria
