@Denis_Jjuuko @Snduhukire @Kalinaki This is emotional but well put. Thanks for the choice of words sir.Farewell and all the best @Kalinaki.May the almighty protect you and guide on your next journey.
English

When I saw the cover page on my desk this morning, I thought about how old @Kalinaki is…. A young person leaving the newsroom during his prime.
It reminded me of the last years of Arsene Wenger at Arsenal. He saw all his best players leave. Journalism in Uganda today feels like those Wenger years at Emirates….
Anyway, like those Wenger players, Daniel leaves already a legend, a veteran…. That explains how talented he is that he was entrusted with responsibility at such a young age. Just like Fabregas for example was at Arsenal. A captain of soccer powerhouse at such a young age… DK, a captain (General Manager, Editorial) at NMG.
Although I am happy for what DK has been able to do and achieve at such a young age, I also feel sad for journalism. People like DK shouldn’t be leaving journalism during their prime.
But that’s the industry in Uganda and perhaps in many other markets.
However, journalism in Uganda should be grateful for the decades he gave it. DK must have felt like Wenger at one stage, seeing his talented protégés leave from time to time.
But the good thing is that the people he has mentored over the last quarter a century or so will be able to carry on. Time for others to become the Mikel Artetas.
Daniel, wishing you the best in the future and welcome, to the other side….

@KuleRonaldMbing @EngJaffar @KKariisa @nbstv @sanyukatv Well put and articulated.Well done sir.You have spoken my mind from A-Z.That issue has been bothering alot.Just yesterday I tried to write just the same, but in the middle of typing I deleted.Thank you for the choice of words.
English

Dear @KKariisa,
There is something deeply wrong with the direction your television stations are taking and it’s time I say it plainly.
Across both @nbstv and @sanyukatv,
morning shows have slowly turned into predictable cycles of political obsession.
Same topic, same angles, same targets.
You have platforms with national reach, you have influence, and you have the power to shape conversations that build this country.
But what you choose to amplify is endless fixation on National Unity Platform.
Every morning, it’s the same script: a panel, center the discussion around @NUP_Ug, recycle talking points and then move on.
But let’s be honest; is this journalism or? Because it is beginning to look like programmed narrative control.
Ugandans are dealing with real issues: Unemployment, Cost of living, Lack of practical skills, Broken systems in education and health
But instead of meaningful programming that equips people,
You decide to feed us with daily political loops that add no value to ordinary lives.
What exactly can a young Ugandan learn from these failed politicians?
How do they become better, how do they earn, how do they grow? Coz your stations are informing people about propaganda but not transforming their lives.
The media should challenge minds, not condition them.
It should expand opportunity, not narrow conversation to a single political fixation.
And let me address something even more uncomfortable:
When media platforms consistently push one direction of conversation,
people begin to question independence, intent and the credibility and this is a dangerous place for any media house to reach because once trust is lost,
no amount of production quality can restore it.
Instead of Munyagwa noise disguised as analysis, give us programs that teach digital skills, highlight real entrepreneurs, break down opportunities for youth and inspire growth beyond politics.
This is not an attack Sir, but a call to responsibility.
You have built powerful platforms, now build purposeful content.
Ugandans don’t just need to be informed, they need to be empowered.
You can better Sir.
Wasingya 🙏

What’s happening to Mutuzo should concern all of us, far beyond one individual.
There is an ongoing hack and extortion attempt targeting her account, with threats to release private messages from her DMs. But let’s pause and think about what that really means.
Mutuzo is a well-known women’s rights activist. For years, her platform has been more than just posts and opinions, it has been a refuge. A place where women, survivors, and vulnerable individuals come to share deeply personal stories, seek guidance, and find someone willing to listen without judgment.
Those messages were never meant for public consumption. They are conversations built on trust, courage, and the hope of finding support.
So if anyone goes ahead and leaks them, this won’t be some kind of “exposé.” It will be a violation, not just of Mutuzo’s privacy, but of every single person who reached out to her in confidence. People who may already be dealing with trauma, fear, or uncertainty.
We cannot allow a dangerous precedent where safe spaces are turned into weapons. Where advocacy is punished by exposing the very people it seeks to protect.
This is bigger than Mutuzo. It’s about protecting the dignity, privacy, and safety of countless individuals who rely on platforms like hers to be heard.
We should be condemning the act of hacking and extortion, not amplifying it. We should all be defending trust, not tearing it down.

@KwikirizaNova @powerz256 @rkabushenga @Kasuku256 One of the best have watched attentively without wanting any distraction @rkabushenga,your legacy will leave on.There’s so much we see n we don’t even knw the brains behind.Hve learnt alot nd thanks alot for all the work you did.
English

The first time I’m watching Kasuku live on YouTube, I’ve always only caught clips on TikTok. I won’t say much about @rkabushenga because, as expected, he delivered.
But I want to give @Kasuku256 his flowers for being such an amazing host. There’s a unique way he broke down Snr Robert’s intellectual depth into something relatable for the ordinary viewer. His ability to initiate conversations with a casual blend, backed by solid knowledge and lived experience in the media industry, really stood out. Even more impressive is how he bridged the generational gap between himself and Snr Robert.
Well done Kuku🙏

@MigaddeAdil @Timjonnes @PoliceUg @mkituuma @kingFahad_17 @Esau_Matsiko @MunahLucky @dr_katumwa @DuncanAbigaba This happened to my friend too at the flyover of clock tower. She’s in tourism and she was doing content talking about the beauty of Uganda.Even after her showing them all the evidence of her page, they didn’t want to know @Queen_Tracy_
English

Hello @PoliceUg and @mkituuma. What kind of offense do I commit by recording such a video in my own country?. If there’s no any law broken I would like to cooperate with you and hunt down fellow civilians that coordinate with police officers who operate from that area of footbridge to create discomfort with in Ugandans.
This came to my attention when I was brutalized by one officer and two gentlemen(I still recall their faces) just because I recorded that video from up there!
Upon bringing me down, they intimidated me that am a terrorist. They immediately took me to a police officer whom I think he heads this gang.
The police officer immediately said I should give out 100k if not I will be taken to police post and be charged with terrorism. He later said if I can’t get 100k I should get 60k and leave before other officers arrive!
After heated arguments, the two gentlemen and an officer ended up saying i should give out 30k.
NOW: my question is; why would a police officer negotiate with a terrorist If I was truly one like they claimed?! 🥹 That’s total insecurity if I can say. A lot of Ugandans are slightly suffering in that place day and night! Please do the needful and end this brutality
That incidence happened between 1700hrs and 1719hrs. Check in the CCTV cameras and look at the gentleman who was putting on a white kanzu and black jacket(that was me)
I can recall another officer with a name tag Busingye though he was not part of the gang but he can lead us to them.
Thanks for your attention

English

“I PASSED THE BAR COURSE AT 1ST ATTEMPT”
The email finally came through.
To those who can now type, “I passed the Bar Course at 1st attempt,” congratulations. For the long nights, the discipline, and the quiet sacrifices. This moment is yours.Celebrate it. You earned it.
And to those who cannot type the same words just yet, because of one or two papers to re-sit… Please don’t despair. Don’t doubt your intellect. Don’t question your understanding of the law. You passed, your graduation is just on a different date.
This is not failure. It is timing. It is process. It is becoming.
Dreams are not cancelled; they are rescheduled.
Delays are often refinements. Your moment is not lost, only loading.
So, cry if you must, but then rise again. Return to your books, not defeated, but refining. The next attempt is not a measure of your worth; it is a continuation of your journey.
When that positive email comes, it will carry more than a result: It will carry resilience. It will carry growth. It will carry proof that you never gave up on yourself.
Dreams are not denied; they are just delayed. And a blessing delayed is never a blessing denied.
