Sick of listening to the gormless, ill-educated, bigoted responses I get on here.
I’m convinced so many folk only post on social media simply as an outlet for their vitriol & abuse. It’s the default setting of so many.
Imagine being that gnarled that you can never see the light.
I am very reluctantly coming to the conclusion that this is the most unpleasant platform I can be standing on. X has become far more uncomfortable & unpleasant than a tube station with a drunk passenger shouting abuse, and a lot more deluded.
Dear Publisher, I understand you're seeking authors with established platforms of 10k+ followers. While I cannot offer you that, I have at least 1 Twitter follower who is (probably) not a bot, untreated anxiety, and a profound fear of self-promotion that really builds character.
Autumn heralds #Halloween
A time for ghosts, and things unseen.
Shall I venture out, amongst the others?
Or hide, right here, beneath the covers?
A monster? Me? It can been said.
But I think I'll stay here in my bed!

Most teens worry about fitting in. Graveyard freak A.J. Cooke’s biggest problem? Her best friends are💀
The Ghosts of Llyne is a gothic-tinged upper #MG lower #YA crossover about small town secrets and learning to embrace who you are 🇬🇧 Chills & humor🌈friendly

Decided to participate in #GhostPit at the last minute.
VEILED ENCHANTMENTS follows the underestimated Blake, whose only chance of obtaining the power, status and belonging she has been denied is to steal from the Grandwitch himself. One girl stands in her way.

Revision tip: check your manuscript for gasp, held breath, twisted guts, glanced, saw, felt, monitor, control, lighting strike, smiled, fringed, glared, sucked in, scrunched, blood stopped, ran cold, anything filtering emotions as bodily responses, especially ones that are largely involuntary in real life
Hi friends! I hear you! I took the question out of my query form. Let's remember to be kind in a world where young agents are also still learning. I thought it was fun, but you dont? Okay! That was meant to be a helpful post and instead I got people attacking my character.
@reece_dinsdale The same. Used to wear coats in summer to cover up. Looking back, I can see I was skinny & my nose normal size. No Social Media or reality shows then. Today's kids have it really hard. Yes, let it go. Don't wait till you're a 100yrs old to look back & see you looked great now
I’m 66 & still carry the scars from my youth re my body image.
Then, my 20 yr old self suffered from body dysmorphia, believing I was twice my size.
Now that I actually AM twice the size of my 20 yr old self, my dysmorphia is off the scale.
Tell me it’s ok to let this all go.
@GinaBMonroe Thanks. I've been trying but you have to type straight into the second word and my thumb instinctively hits the space bar for a new word! And sometimes a long hyphen appears when working at speed and I have no idea how I did it! Slows me down.
I guess practice is needed!!!
@AlibearNS Mine autocorrects if I type two hyphens together, another word, and hit the space bar. So ‘word- -word ’ without the space in the middle of the hyphens. The en dashes combine into an em dash.
Still struggling with using the em dash in Word. I watched videos on it and I'm still hit and miss. Using it as a frequent symbol just takes too much time. Anyone use these in their MG's? I think I'll give up on it :(

Just started querying a 26,000 word Lower MG novel (7-10). First query turned down within an hour (nicely) saying they don't do novellas. Really confused - Google says the word count is fine. Anyone out there write #MG ? #Writingcommunity#Writers#Amquerying#writerslife
