We need more politicians across the world to fight with this determination to end krill fishing entirely. Note: Norway takes ~63% of total Antarctic krill catch—but a US equity firm owns 60% of Norway's Aker BioMarine krill feed business. China catches ~24% of total (CCAMLR)

There's nothing sustainable about krill fishing. Krill are the foundation of the Antarctic marine ecosystem, relied on by whales, seals, penguins and countless other species. The exploitation of krill for profit has to end.

Iran is not being attacked because it violates human rights (its attackers are serial violators who don’t give a damn about human rights). It’s being attacked because it dared to defend the human rights of the Palestinian people from the ongoing Israeli genocide- the only recognized state to have done so. And it’s not being attacked for having nuclear weapons, but rather because it does not have nuclear weapons. There is no way to put lipstick on the pig of US-Israeli aggression, try as they may.

The Omanis are famously cautious. The Omani FM going on CBS to reveal what has actually been achieved in the negotiations is quite unprecedented. And what has been achieved is significant - Trump can indeed declare victory. Listen to this segment - it goes way beyond what Obama achieved. But everything indicates that Trump won't take yes for an answer. That he will start a war of choice very soon. Which is probably why the Omani FM decided to go public. So that the American people knew that peace was within reach when Trump instead opted for war.

The term “preemptive” is pure propaganda. The U.S. once again used the veneer of negotiations as a cover to bomb Iran. Tehran had just offered terms that went far beyond the 2015 nuclear deal. What was preempted was diplomacy. The same propaganda tactics used in 2003 Iraq war.

The attacks on Iran by Israel and the United States are illegal, unprovoked and unjustifiable. Peace and diplomacy was possible. Instead, Israel and the United States chose war. This happens often. The US uses its singular financial power to impose suffocating sanctions on the countries they claim they're trying to help -- in Iran, Syria, Cuba, Venezuela, etc. Then the US points to the resulting economic suffering as proof that the governments are bad.
