Trump cannot escalate his war out of this war because Iran can inflict costly counterescalation. If Iran destroys the regional oil infrastructure, oil prices will shoot through the roof in an enduring way and cause global economic depression. The only way out is de-escalatory.

1) Iran didn't control the Strait Of Hormuz, now it does
2) Iran oil was sanctioned, now it's not
3) Iran was not building a nuke, now it will
4) US bases in the Gulf were assets, now liabilities
5) Inflation was declining, now increasing

Just as in Gaza, Israel has been targeting schools and universities in Iran.
The US did NOT target or bomb universities in Afghanistan & Iraq.
