This is why it’s utter nonsense that prices “will go up” if we reduce packaging. The same bad faith argument that we need the most expensive (and rising) fossil fuels for “energy affordability”. Stop listening to nonsense- let’s do what helps New Yorkers and our environment.
Senator Pete Harckham@SenatorHarckham

Historically high plastics prices are another reason to use more recycled content in packaging and less plastic overall in packaging. PRRIA will save companies and consumers money in the long run. msn.com/en-us/money/sa…

And frankly, do you know how many times we’ve heard this guy tell us he won’t do policy in the budget? When in reality lots of policy is done in the budget including these SEQRA and CLCPA rollbacks, just never good things to protect New Yorkers are.

Aw, the guy who has anti-democratically refused to call votes on bills passed out of all committees, like NY HEAT Act and Packaging Reduction Act, even though they had enough votes to pass just from co-sponsors, is upset NOW about process and how heavy handed the governor is??
Bernadette Hogan@bern_hogan

“There is no budget deal,” Democratic Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie tells reporters immediately after @GovKathyHochul. “I don’t care what the governor says,” when asked if the final # is $268B spending plan.

Probably means it’s saving 20% of the pollution, but buildings increased 22% (if you’re entitled to conjecture, we are, too). Absolute rubbish.

What trash science and reporting. How can you directly connect the particulate matter only to vehicles when -BUILDINGS ARE 40% of the pollution -we simultaneously just went through the coldest winter in decades, requiring more fuel burned to heat. nytimes.com/2026/05/06/nyr…

NY spends $1B a year moving trash to already overburdened landfills. That’s absurd. It’s time to cut waste, remove toxic chemicals from packaging and hold large corporations accountable for the costs they create. Let’s stop footing the bill for big business and pass PRRIA.

Yes very familiar, like the climate law according to her, with minimum requirements she never attempted are “too burdensome”. She sees this utility as her patronage dump, those protecting ratepayers are punished & excommunicated, and only loyalists may serve, but ONLY serve her.

This is the company governor Hochul goes to the mat to keep, thwarts every attempt to reform (went after Dem electeds trying to fix it- all now out of office). They never meet their required minimum metrics and requested they be easier-sound familiar? newsday.com/long-island/po…

it’s always the pledge and the turn, and never the prestige. This is why the tiny little change that has passed has not been implementednn in 6 years. They actually just give cover to useless politicians.

Everyone should be aware our organization has ONE partisanship - to the climate. Others’ partisanship is to whoever is in power and it sure pays well for them to pretend and brag their “relationships” with the governor and legislators are some kind of magic - but

Dear NY State Democratic Majority. Remember how you were bashed for bail reform? Get ready if you vote to undo the climate law and SEQRA in the budget. Our contemporaries are wimps making deals with you. We’re not. We’ve NOTHING to lose except terrible leadership! Saddle up.

Students say that having to pass classes to graduate is so unfair! Yes, we know they had 4 years, but they never got around to it. Sounds like we must cut the graduation requirements and timelines! @GovKathyHochuli is the student. This is about her ignoring the climate law.

Hi Kids, Remember. If you ignore a law for years you had every opportunity to comply with, but refused to, and they finally catch you and win in court, continue to commit that crime, and blame the victim and anyone enforcing a law, like @GovKathyHochul! cityandstateny.com/policy/2026/04…

It’s really not a complicated story, msmers: Hochul did next to nothing for years. As a result, pollution didn’t drop. Neither did energy bills. She simply catered to the gas lobby. Now after doing nothing, as a court orders her to act, she wants to amend the law to cover it up.
Pete Sikora@PeteSikora1

Ugh: the latest from @bradplumer @nytimes tells us it’s understandable that Hochul wants to roll back the climate law🙄 She’s portrayed as realistic, sober-minded, reacting to “challenges”🤦 In fact, she’s like a student saying the dog ate her homework. Yet msm covers for her🧵

Protect our communities, not polluters. Stood with hundreds of New Yorkers across the state to stop the gutting of our climate laws. New Yorkers are facing dirty air, polluted water, flooding, and worsening health outcomes. We won’t stand by while our future is put at risk.

Breaking: Whatever NY does for future energy will cost more. Most existing plants, lines, pipes need replacing -some need all 3. Once you understand, the only ? is: cost apples to cost apples and benefit apples to benefit apples. Renewables win, even before fossil volatility
All Our Energy@AllOurEnergy

The fallacy of @GovKathyHochul’s entire CLCPA “leaked” unproven memo (shame on media not fact checking!!) is SHE REFUSES TO DISCLOSE TO NEW YORKERS WHAT IS THE ALTERNATIVE, AND WHAT THAT COSTS. Hint: inaction is more without this fossil fuel volatility -that’s why flip flop now.
