so if I’m new to this I’m going to go to some event with big dreams and everyone there will already know each other and be there to hang out with each other, I will ingest some sex education about consent or aftercare or whatever and immediately turn around and do the risky shit

as a munch and workshop attender it’s also that if they’re run properly they feel a bit like going to church or to a party meeting, which is difficult to sell if you are desperate to get dommed

My ex-kink-educator hot take on this is that it’s actually an everyone problem, it’s just particularly noticeable among groups who wear their freak on their sleeve, as it were. Especially post-Covid, so many in-person events—from munches to workshops—have gone extinct.

Hate that being raised in 2000’s evangelicalism means I’m just forever enthralled by the vibes of Catholicism. Like every “church thing” I grew up with was called MEC (Missions Emulating Christ) but now I hear “Apostolic Nuncio” and feel like I’ve got the Olive Garden of Religion
