Forced mobilization in Ukraine has taken on deeply disturbing forms. It has fueled a corruption machine worth billions of dollars each year, eroded public trust in the state, and — most critically — failed to produce a motivated, effective fighting force for the front lines. It is both ugly and profoundly inhumane.
A quantitative and qualitative analysis of the interview with Tucker Carlson.
Ukrainian-language Ukrainian channels almost completely avoided posting any clips from the interview itself. Instead, bloggers, journalists, and a large number of experts — many of whom I know are paid for posts or rewarded for loyalty — criticized it without ever showing the actual content.
By contrast, Russian-speaking channels, including those from Odesa, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and other cities, shared the interview directly along with facts and analysis.
What surprised me most was that even under critical headlines, many comments were positive. Overall, the support balance came out at +13.8% — and this is despite the entire state apparatus working against me.
Of course, state television branded me as “pro-Russian,” but thankfully, the viewership ratings of state TV are extremely low.
Another group that reacted sharply against me consists of people funded by Western grants. They represent neither the authorities nor the public, and form a small but very loud segment of society. Notably, most of their criticism was not about the content of the interview, but about the fact that I chose to speak with Tucker Carlson in the first place.
I believe that if thousands of talking heads hadn’t been mobilized against me, this interview would have received around 90% approval. After all, I simply said what most people in Ukraine have known for a long time.
Thank you again for enormous support. Long live Ukraine! Peaceful and prosperous!
To all the occasional visitors to Ukraine — those who genuinely rave about the bars and cafés in cities far from the front lines: why do you come so rarely?
Why do you turn down offers of permanent jobs — for example, in universities — when they’re extended to you?
Why not take a proper Ukrainian position and actually move to a place like Zaporizhzhia or Kharkiv (at best to try to live on Ukraine's salary, not Western one, and with Ukraine's passport and insurance -- just to feel it all)?
That way you might actually understand how the war affects real life, instead of simply strolling through the streets of Kyiv or Lviv on Western payroll, completely ignorant of demography, the economy, scientific decline, and every other critical issue — only to then publish yet another glowing, propagandistic post about how “incredible” life is in Ukraine during wartime. This isn’t analysis. This is tourism. You get that, right?
After all, you can have a perfectly lovely escorted hike in the mountains of Afghanistan too.
Pleased to receive Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Thanked him for an update on the progress on various facets of our Special & Privileged Strategic Partnership.
We also exchanged views on various regional and global issues, including situation in Ukraine and West Asia. Reiterated our consistent support for efforts aimed at peaceful resolution of conflicts.

I will underline that Volodymyr Zelenskyy keeps pretending that he has nothing to do with Mr. Yermak who had been his long-term friend, six-year chief-of-staff and who is still ruling a lot of things in the state without any position. And who is accused in large numbers of money laundering during the years of large-scale invasion.
Mr. Yermak is trying to collect $3.2 million of bail. Up to know his two friends donated $330K, and one not very known director sent UAH 666 ($15).
Almost every person promoted through the years by Zelenskyy has now charges in alleged corruption.
The Russian-Ukrainian war is bloody and senseless – by this point, massive killing and destruction are wrought over nothing.
If it’s about Ukraine not entering NATO – than this question has been taken off the table by now.
If it’s about protecting democracy, than our democracy is in such a fragile situation that barely differs from any other autocratic regime: very limited freedom of speech, weakened institutions, violations of basic constitutional rights, political persecution, and people’s life matter as little as in any autocracy.
If the war is to remove Zelenskyy from power than he has been it’s main beneficiary: on the verge of losing power back in 2021, the war allowed him to thrive, earning money on all aspects of this war, gaining almost unlimited power inside the country, all the while basking in international fame.
If it’s about regaining the territories of Ukraine back from Russian conquest, than Ukraine is just losing more territories, rather than recapturing them.
This war has no reason or justification to continue except of benefiting some small groups. Ukraine is on the verge of extinction because of it.

@IuliiaMendel@GeorgeSzamuely@TuckerCarlson Balls of steel, @IuliiaMendel.
On the other hand, You did have a role in bringing a chaos agent to power, who used it do devastate Your country.
You owe to your compatriots - both fallen and living ones - to dismantle him before there's nothing left of Ukraine!
I told Tucker Carlson @TuckerCarlson exactly what Ukrainians have been discussing in their kitchens for years — and it caused an absolute storm. People are still writing and calling me with words of gratitude. “Normal people are all with you,” Ukrainians keep repeating to me.
Of course, public opinions in Ukraine’s information space vary widely. This is especially visible on Ukrainian Facebook, where partisan bots and paid “experts” have long been battling those who still believe the platform matters. Unfortunately, it is not representative of the Ukrainian people at all.
A large part of Ukrainian society has no voice in the West. Many in Kyiv have grown comfortable with the normalization of this war — securing grants, stable salaries, political patronage, money-laundering schemes, or building careers on the war. Such people exist in every war. But conscience still matters. And sooner or later, the profiteering from Ukrainian blood must come to an end.
Ukraine desperately needs peace, elections, the restoration of democracy and the economy, and real investments — which will only come in peacetime. Most importantly, Ukraine must once again become worthy of its people, so they no longer live in fear and instead choose to return, rebuild their lives, and raise children here.
Do you agree that the interview of Yulia Mendel to Tucker Carlson should be forbidden for the sake of the Democracy and Free World as it is full of false information and lies about President Zelenskyy? 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
Yes or No?
