Fifth year of building with ruby on rails almost daily and I feel I have barely scratched the surface. The more you know, the more you know you don’t know.

@daveclintonn The M4 Air is very good. I really want to take it. It is very performant. It’s making it hard to justify the base Pro M3 and Pro M4. For those, you’re only playing for a better display.

Most of my clients runs into the same exact problem with their Hotwire Native apps. So I started building something to help. Something to greatly simplify one of the trickiest parts of mobile development. Any guesses? I’ll give lifetime access to whoever is the closest!

@mbiti_mwondi This can only happen if you have verifiable deep domain expertise that takes years to gain. You cant wake up and start selling vibecoded platforms. You will see bad things

Some of the youth I met over the weekend were asking show me your ways and I told almost all of them just learn how to use AI and vibe code your way out of solving simple things that can sell quick. Started Vibe Coding for this client in Maryland yesterday at around midnight,2 hours later $1000 pay, very few jobs on earth pay you $500 per hour. Learn vibe coding and sell your stuff, the world has billions of people in need, AI sio ya kuchat na ChatGpt pekee,it’s a gold mine. Hakunanga Siri it’s just the simple things.

One of my most rewarding gigs lately has been vibe coding healthcare platforms and selling them. A proper marketing/client hunting strategy targeting converting 3 clients and you’re making a cool $500- $1000 a day. I think you can do that easily in any profession kushinda kuwaste internet bundles kutusi watu huku na fitina za Tiktok.

@_lennoxomondi In a framework like rails you just need the inbuilt background processing and a single postgresql instance

You have been contracted to design an event management system for a client who has won a bid to sell tickets for one of the largest football leagues in Africa. The ticketing system is scheduled to go live at 12:00 PM, with only 27,000 tickets available. The launch announcement has already been broadcasted live across major media outlets in a country with a population exceeding 50 million people. How would you design and architect this system to handle the massive demand, ensure fairness, prevent failures, and deliver a smooth user experience?

I still believe macOS is still the best OS for devs. You can install PostgreSQL and set up a Rails DB that connects seamlessly—no user/password issues. Try that on Linux and you'll spend the day troubleshooting. I’ve had enough problems with Linux to know I’m not going back.

@AnyunguWanyungu Great..I had built something similar bt it didnt take off.Main finding I got is: Kenyans get vendors via social media mostly instagram as they can see their work and vendors prefer social media cz its free, has traffic, can post unlimited video/pics and ads convert well..
