How is getting $8 billion from State coffers and $2.3 billion from deferring pension payments bringing a budget down to zero?
The same NYC taxpayers that pay the bulk of NYC taxes are paying the $8 billion of state taxes that are funding the budget gap.
This budget ‘fix’ is robbing Peter to pay Paul and it didn’t work out well for either of them.

Bitcoin exists only digitally.....and VERY easy to replicate. Software can be rewritten (better) & hardware interchangeable with any other.

“Backed by military, economy, and population” = extrinsic value. That’s not intrinsic, that’s a network of trust, enforcement, and adoption. Exactly what I said about Bitcoin.
The dollar’s value comes from its network (US government, global trade, legal tender laws). Bitcoin’s value comes from its network (nodes, hashrate, global adoption, immutable rules). Neither has “intrinsic value” in the chemistry-textbook sense, both are monetary networks.
The difference: the dollar’s network can print 40% of all dollars in existence in 18 months (2020-2021). Bitcoin’s can’t. That’s why one is debasing and the other isn’t.
Not simplifying, your brain just doesn’t like logic.

Actually, it’s better for money to have no “intrinsic value” that’s not a quality of good money. Good money needs decentralization, security, neutrality, immutability, and trust.
Bitcoin’s value is in the secured, decentralized, adopted ledger that no one controls. Nothing has intrinsic value in an absolute sense, value is always relational (to demand, scarcity, utility).
The fact that you can copy the software but not the monetary network is exactly what makes Bitcoin revolutionary. You can copy Bitcoin’s software. You can’t copy its network. That’s the whole point.

Both assets have very little intrinsic value. Gold would be trading at $500/oz if it was not for the speculators.

I still am bearish on $IREN.
Algorithms/retail probably read $NVDA + $IREN partnership and bought it up.
However, if you look at the realtity, it's just looks like brand agreement giving $NVDA risk-free convertible notes.
So $IREN can continue selling their $6,000,000,000 ATM into retail investors.
It's the equivalent of a startup using AWS and saying they have an Amazon partnership so give them $6B.
This wasn't Nvidia directly funding $IREN yet, just a risk free option to.
There's a "5 GW deployment" but I'd rather not be the one buying into the dilution to fund it.
