Today around noon THP responded to a serious crash in Carroll Co. involving a TDOT dump truck, a Montgomery County school bus, and a passenger vehicle. Tragically, two students on the bus were killed. Several others were seriously injured. We will provide updates as available

THP is currently on the scene of a fatal crash in Carroll Co. near Highway 70 and Cedar Grove involving an out of county school bus and another vehicle. This remains an ongoing investigation, and troopers are actively working to determine the circumstances of the crash.

An arrest warrant charging criminal homicide will be sworn out this evening against Ray Eugene Padgett, 52, for the death of the female motorist killed in this afternoon’s crash on Murfreesboro Pk.

Murfreesboro Pk at the county line will be closed into the early evening for the investigation of a fatal crash. The driver of a stolen pickup truck traveling the wrong way on Murfreesboro Pk collided with a white sedan. The female driver of the sedan was killed. The driver of the stolen truck is hospitalized with non-critical injuries.
