Round two. My topic: America practices strict capitalism for the poor—and open socialism for the wealthy. If you’re struggling: “Figure it out.” “Work harder.” “No handouts.” If you’re powerful: Bailouts. Tax breaks. Subsidies. Same system. Different rules. Strict for the poor. Soft for the rich.

BREAKING: The Associated Press has projected the YES vote will win Virginia's redistricting referendum. Democrats are now authorized to redraw the congressional map ahead of the midterms. The current delegation is 6-5 Democrat. The proposed map is designed to produce 10-1. A net gain of up to four House seats for Democrats. Republicans currently hold a 218-213 advantage in the US House. This could be the seats that decide control of Congress. Never stop connecting the dots.

WOAH: At a press conference today, FBI Director Kash Patel was asked about The Atlantic's reporting that he was locked out of his government systems on April 10. His response: "I was never locked out of my systems. Anybody who says the opposite is lying." His own $250 million defamation lawsuit, filed yesterday, says this: "On April 10, 2026, Director Patel had a routine technical problem logging into a government system, which was quickly fixed." Patel's lawyers: he was locked out, briefly. Patel at the podium: anyone who says I was locked out is lying. One of these is a sworn legal filing. The other is a press conference statement accusing a reporter of lying about a fact already conceded in court. Yesterday, Democracy Forward filed a federal FOIA seeking communications from members of Patel's security detail containing terms like "won't wake" and "unresponsive." The contradictions are stacking up. Never stop connecting the dots.

Congressman Ted Lieu is now calling for Kash Patel to step down as FBI Director. Lieu cited The Atlantic's reporting — based on more than two dozen current and former officials — that Patel's security detail could not wake him on multiple occasions, in one case requesting "breaching equipment" used by SWAT teams to enter locked rooms. Lieu also pointed to Patel flying on taxpayer funds to the Olympics, a documented "culture of fear" at the FBI, and Patel's public statements contradicting what prosecutors themselves have said about Epstein's trafficking network. Patel has sued The Atlantic for $250 million. A sitting member of Congress is now publicly calling on the FBI Director to seek help. Never stop connecting the dots.

This is how Donald Trump describes America's most important Gulf ally: "He didn't think he would be kissing my ass. He really didn't. And now he has to be nice to me. He better be nice to me." The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. The same Saudi Arabia that: — Coordinates OPEC oil production decisions that move the global economy — Whose energy infrastructure sits within Iranian missile range — Whom the US needs to keep oil markets stable during the Iran war — Whom Trump is asking for military and diplomatic cooperation Diplomatic relationships are built over decades. Trump described the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia as someone kissing his body parts — on camera — while asking him for military cooperation. The isolation of America is not just a policy failure. It is a daily practice. Never stop connecting the dots.

As the ceasefire with Iran dies tomorrow night, it is worth remembering how the Secretary of Defense described this war at the start: "Flying over their capital. Death and destruction from the sky all day long. We're playing for keeps." Tehran has a population denser than New York City. Over 1,000 civilians have been killed in the campaign. A U.S.-Israeli airstrike on the first day hit an elementary school in Minab, killing 165 people — mostly children. Tonight the ceasefire ends. The Vice President has not left for Pakistan. Iran has not confirmed attending talks. "Death and destruction from the sky all day long" is not a quote from a movie. It is the operating posture of the United States government. Never stop connecting the dots.

ICYMI: Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche has admitted the DOJ excluded images showing “death, physical abuse, or injury” from today’s Epstein files release. Let that sink in. The government is acknowledging graphic evidence exists and chose to withhold it, while redacting names tied to Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful associates, including Donald Trump. Yet, nothing has happened for months now.

Today at Kevin Warsh's Fed Chair confirmation hearing: Senator Warren: "Are you refusing to tell us if you have investments in vehicles set up by Jeffrey Epstein?" Warsh: "Those assets will be sold if I'm confirmed and before I take office." He did not say no. Warsh's name appears in the publicly released DOJ Epstein files. A 2010 dinner guest list reportedly included Epstein, Warsh, his wife Jane Lauder, Donald Trump, and Melania Trump. Warren revealed that the FBI conducted zero investigation into Warsh's financial holdings or his appearance in the Epstein files before clearing his nomination. Warsh has over $100 million in undisclosed assets. If confirmed, he would be the wealthiest Fed Chair in more than 100 years — installed by a president already being investigated by the BBC for trading tied to his market-moving statements. Never stop connecting the dots.

BREAKING: Democracy Forward just filed three FOIA requests with the FBI seeking records related to Director Kash Patel's conduct. The search terms they submitted tell the story on their own: Alcohol. Asleep. Drunk. Drinking. Hungover. Inebriated. Intoxicated. Sleeping. "Won't wake." "Wake him." Unresponsive. "Passed out." These terms were submitted against communications sent by members of Patel's security detail. Last week The Atlantic reported — based on 24 current and former officials — that Patel's security team requested "breaching equipment" on one occasion because they could not wake him behind locked doors. Breaching equipment is what SWAT teams use. Patel responded by suing The Atlantic for $250 million. Democracy Forward is now using federal law to find out if the security detail's own messages corroborate the reporting. The FBI Director oversees the agency responsible for responding to terrorism on U.S. soil. The United States is currently at war with Iran.

The SAVE Act is effectively dead in the Senate. Thune admitted the votes were never there and moved on to "more pressing stuff." Here's the principle: women shouldn't have to do one extra thing more than a man to vote. Want voter ID? Fine. Issue it to every citizen for free. The burden of proving citizenship should never fall on the voter when the government can verify it at zero cost. Voting is a right. Not a privilege you earn by having the right paperwork.

Zohran Mamdani, quoting Tupac on Meet the Press: "We always have money for war and not to feed the poor." The Trump administration has spent $28 billion on the Iran war. Yesterday veterans were handcuffed in the Capitol for opposing it. The BBC published evidence that someone is making millions timing trades to Trump's war announcements. The SAVE Act died on the Senate floor because Thune said there's "more pressing stuff." Tupac said it in 1993. Mamdani said it this week. The money is there. It's just going somewhere else.

Let's be clear about what the BBC investigation means: Trades timed to Trump's market-moving statements. Minutes before he posts. Millions in profit. Senate Democrats asked the SEC to investigate. The SEC declined to comment. The White House declined to comment. The 2012 STOCK Act made this kind of trading by government officials a federal crime. No one has ever been prosecuted under it. Not one person.

Dear Virginia, Your redistricting amendment is on the ballot today. Pass it and Democrats pick up four House seats. Fail it and Trump gets what he wants. Our country is counting on you to kick some fascist ass today. Don't screw this up. Sincerely, The United States

🚨BREAKING: Senate Majority Leader John Thune has effectively shelved the SAVE Act. Trump called it his "No. 1 priority." He said it would "guarantee the midterms." Thune's response, per Punchbowl: "If we don't have other pressing stuff in front of us that has to get done, then we'll see about getting that going." Translation: your number one priority isn't even in our top five. Earlier this year Thune admitted the obvious: "We don't have the votes either to proceed, get on a talking filibuster, nor to sustain it if we got on it." A bill that would have required 21 million American citizens to produce documents they don't have to register to vote. Dead on the Senate floor.

Trump says Iran violated the ceasefire “numerous times.” Iran says the US sabotaged it by blockading their ports. The US Navy seized an Iranian cargo ship. Iran launched drones at US vessels. Trump threatened to blow up the entire country. Both sides are accusing each other of violations.
