Life update! This was my last graduation at @UNCWilmington. This fall I will be joining the University of Utah David Eccles School of Business!

Also, program structure matters! People may respond differently to annual (Alaska PFD, EITC) vs. monthly (Soc Sec) transfers. How & when funds are received may matter for mental accounting.

Why is this important? Cash is growing in popularity as a policy option and being used higher in the income distribution than before. Effects may not be the same for middle class.

Today I have been promoted to Associate Professor with tenure! It feels surreal. When I started this wild ride as a masters student at Montana State, I had no concept of a Ph.D. or a tenured professor. It is safe to say that I have moved a few rungs up on the ladder.

@lindsbullinger I didn’t think of this at all at the time. It’s very salient, however, at my current stage of parenting.

Parents, edu scholars, et al: my 4-year old is starting KG in the fall. He is so ready. But he is a “young 5” (summer bday). We seem to be the only boy-parents not red-shirting. I’ve read some, but this isn’t my expertise. Are we setting him up for failure in middle/high school?

Some professional news: after this semester I will be joining the Milken Institute research department to be the Director of Health Economics. CU Denver Economics has been an ideal home for the past decade and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the department.

I've served as the Data Linkages Lead for this project for the CCOULD project for the past 3 years. This is a tremendous resource for understanding health care utilization for children and caregivers in the child welfare system.
