40 percent of those who had substance use disorders had received counseling; about 67 percent of people with mental health disorders and 38 percent of those with substance use disorders had received medication.

This month we published a study in Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers and Prevention abt this topic. We find that patient-reported measures of mental health for those with cancer improved more b/t 2008 and 2019 than a matched noncancer comp. Physical health scores remained stable.

We are working with the good folks at the @theNCI to investigate at trends in health-related quality of life (HRQOL) between cancer and noncancer Medicare beneficiaries over 65 using the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER)-Medicare Health Outcomes Survey (MHOS).

Me & coauthors at Child Maltreatment estimating differences in receipt of mental health & substance use disorder for caregivers involved w CPS. Whites ppl were WAYYY more likely than Black ppl to have received counseling (44% vs. 24%) or an MH medication (69% vs. 52%).
