Plus, an OKC win chase would add intrigue to @NBA season - most since that Warriors run 10 years ago. Feels like that was the last regular season that "mattered" in a big way, w/ GSW's Finals loss deterring future teams from overemphasizing regular season (+load management, etc).

Yes, the "73-9 and no ring" '15-16 Warriors are a cautionary tale of sorts - perhaps chasing regular season wins can come at the cost of winning titles. But there is something admirable about the pursuit: NBA history has 79 champs, but only a select few teams w/ the wins record.

Great @neil_paine piece covering OKC's dominating 20-1 start: open.substack.com/pub/neilpaine/… My opinion: they should go for 74-8! They clearly have the talent/depth & 1 title in hand. Setting the wins record would elevate their legacy & put them in all-time "pantheon" of great teams.
