NetBlocks, a global internet monitoring organization, announced that the internet shutdown in Iran has entered its eighteenth day, and after 408 hours, public access to the international internet still has not been restored. According to the organization, while general access to the global internet remains blocked, only limited groups of users have been selectively granted access to it. Meanwhile, other users are restricted to a limited domestic network (intranet), which has come under increasing control.

I hate to tell you this, and people aren’t gonna like it, but Iraq, Syria and Libya’s opposition politics were far more sophisticated and civilized then Iran’s. Liberals, monarchists, communists, islamists, and representatives of minorities gathered for conferences and spoke to each other and debated and argued and broke bread together. Most of Iranians in the diaspora live in the pluralist west yet they remain cutthroat tribalists politically.

ایرانی های خارج از کشور: خواهش میکنم اگه یه کار میخواید بکنین، از قطعی اینترنت بگید. از هیچی خبر نداریم‌. از اینکه کجای شهر رو زدن خبر نداریم. خیلی ترسناکه. کار و زندگی خودمونم خوابیده کامل.
